TASM 2-WIP (100% Pics in Last Page)

Re: Amazing Spider Man 2-WIP (Orhardar Pattern-93% Done!!!)

I would leave the ring of cured adhesive in place to help ensure proper positioning. But you can do whatever you'd like. :)

As Lunaman may say soon, the best way to figure out if a two part epoxy is the way to go, is to grab it and use it on something else to see how it ends up working.
I was wary to remove the original adhesive and make the placement myself as it was so perfect when I got it.

Edit: Luna beat me to it haha

Well, I'll probably go to Home Depot tomorrow to find some of the epoxy and superglue, just in case. (Any recommended brand or type?)
And I'll probably attempt to fill just the center and a bit of the edges of the remaining adhesive since that would give me perfect position. Hopefully everything works out cause this would be my first magnetic face shell and lenses; therefore, I want the magnets :D

Thanks for all the help guys!

No problem, we just want to help you finally finish this build you've worked so hard on.

Re: Amazing Spider Man 2-WIP (Orhardar Pattern-93% Done!!!)

Okay I am sorry but a couple of things. This thread is not dead, I was going through what university students call a "Hell-Week" so obviously I can't be updating the thread. Also, I was waiting for things like shoes to arrive so I can't do anything until they arrive. So on that point I'd like to thank Lunaman for clearing up what should be obvious. Besides that, TheDaredevil I would appreciate that you refrain from insulting the other members when they are just acting like good and upstanding members of this forum. It is by no means adequate for this forum considering that this is supposed to be a place where members respect and support each other. I am by no means amused by any of your comments and by the fact that you hi-jacked my thread recently just to know the status of your pattern when ordered. I understand that you may not have known the correct use of the forum at the moment but members explained it to you and yet you continued spamming this thread and I said nothing because it was passable. However, I do not endorse insults of any kind. If you persist with this behavior I will report you to the mods and frankly you can respond however you want to this message because in the end this is MY build thread. If you want to insult anyone, go to the top right corner of the main forum and hit the "New Thread" button and post whatever you feel like posting on YOUR thread. I always check to see what people think of my build but sadly most of the notifications I get are basically spam that do not have anything to do with the thread itself and it gets annoying after a while. This is not an overreaction this is a genuine reaction. I have waited for the activity to calm down but since it has persisted and escalated to disrespect I have decided to respond to the situation. I'd like to also thank thatparkerluck for her thoughts on this situation.

-Mini Update-
I have received my Title Boxing shoes and have fixed the lens problem! :D Also, I decided to order a metallic black urethane ASM 2 spider from user modellbauber and am waiting for its arrival. Regarding the painting of the back portion I will have to wait until spring break until I attempt anything since I have more time and access because I am currently working on many college projects and studies. Also wanted to say that I'm going to a convention tomorrow as casual Peter Parker (movie jacket and clothes) and I designed a Press Pass based on the design from the Raimi films but modded with the Daily Bugle information from THIS movie universe. I did this because, since there are many people that won't know who I am, it might jog their memory. Also, I will be walking around with my spare mask hanging out from one of the jacket's pockets and obviously the movie used camera (Yashica Electro 35)

Re: Amazing Spider Man 2-WIP (Orhardar Pattern-93% Done!!!)

Let's get this thread back on track, then. :) I'm definitely interested in seeing how the boxing shoes work out! I don't think I've seen more than one other person take that route as opposed to the aqua socks, and they look a little more structured and comfy for a full day's wear. The press pass looks great, too! I admit to being a total sucker for civvies Peter Parker costumes, though.

p. s. All the best of luck with college!

p. p. s. Tiny mention that I'm one of the few ladies who noses around Spidey build threads. Don't worry about the wrong pronoun. I know we're a rare appearance!

Also, sorry to derail the thread Equinox, your build is great mate, keep up the good work.

Thanks for the support and good wishes, they mean more than you know, and I am so sorry for the misunderstanding on the pronoun thing! (Fixed it just to be sure) Like you said its kind of rare and normally female fans end up commenting on 'big/famous' threads so I didn't notice and since your name is practically unisex I just assumed. (My bad since Parker could be Peter Parker, or Ben Parker, or May Parker, or 'Mayday' Parker, or Mary Jane Parker, etc.) I should've been more careful since it was my fault just assuming that you were a 'he' and not a 'she' :facepalm. So again, sorry and thank you for your support, feedback on everything, and glad that you liked the press pass.

Also, sorry to derail the thread Equinox, your build is great mate, keep up the good work.

No problem man, I don't mind when its for a good cause and trying to show people the right way of doing things in order to preserve a thread's integrity. Thanks for the feedback and hope I can make a build worthy of being close to 'the greats' so to say ;) (Such as you, Lunaman, etc.)

Also regarding the convention I attended today. It was extremely fun and entertaining. Also it was funny since I have a lot of people that know me but don't know ME. In other words, they knew Spider-Man (my ASM 1 suit) But when I went as Peter Parker they didn't notice right away until they saw my press pass. It went like this: "Oh hello *looks at press pass for about eight seconds* wait.... you're? *I nod my head* SPIDEY!!!! *they proceed to hug me*" It was a fun experience and incredibly some people knew I was Peter Parker in civilian clothing. (May have been the fact that I had half of the mask sticking out of my Vince jacket xD) But yeah, just wanted to share that experience as well. Now onto another thing regarding both the event AND my current build. I ran into the pleasant surprise that a small business was recently created regarding 3D printing! And its practically next door to me! So they can help me out if I decide to update my web-shooters or if I try to design the upgraded version seen in recent pictures. (Cue the many ASM 2 builders running to try and make the new shooters xD )

That is all for now,

*cough*... This may seem a bit awkward, but uh... Any of you guys know how to hide the manhood when you're putting on the suit, and like... Avoiding see through nips? It's embarrassing for a 14 year old to have this in a convention.

Wear a dance belt or two pairs of compression shorts, or a pair of boxer briefs with a swimwear pad insert to protect your modesty. I've never heard of anyone having visible nipples in one of these suits, the lycra is pretty robust.

Like Lunaman said, compression shorts/dance belt to protect your dignity. For nips (even though it generally does not occur) I would recommend a tight fitting under armor shirt like those used in the gym. It'd be better if it was a simple design with no stitches or anything that may "pop" through the lycra. I haven't had much problems with this but some conventions have made me face harsh air conditioning units... And wearing a suit that practically feels like you're not wearing anything... Doesn't really help sometimes.

Also on this topic. Wanted to let you guys know that I convinced a friend of mine to accompany me to one of the cons as Aleskei Mylcovich (aka RHINO) and obviously this is a civilian/before mech suit version. So I need to help him find the clothes, bald cap and tattoos. And we're going to make the small fight scene INCLUDING the pulling down his pants with webs part up on the stage! So besides this build I need to find the same or similar clothing Aleskei has and some way to make temporary tattoos. (Not a real expert on the last one so any tips would be appreciated) Hopefully, I'll be able to have this recorded!

Amazing Spider Man 2-WIP (Orhardar Pattern-93% Done!!!)

So I decided to make a simple 2D sketch of the upgraded shooters with temporary dimensions. This design was made out of some artwork that was released on Tumblr and observations of the new pictures that partly revealed the upgraded shooters. This is not the final version as I will try to wait until more images surface for this particular design. Some personal additions may be LED lights and a sound board since this design is big enough for me to incorporate those additions. (About time I put my engineering classes to work on something important! xD ) The design has some flaws in terms of proportion since I made this a bit rushed but all that will be fixed in the final version. Also, from the released concept art and stills we can see that these shooters are REALLY advanced tech so it could either be Peter getting/stealing some tech from Oscorp or his father's subway lab; or maybe Harry gives Peter/Spider-Man access to the Oscorp labs in order to build them (before he goes all green with envy, if you catch my drift)
Or they could just appear out of nowhere and Peter just had the materials... That could work too. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1395297307.160171.jpg

Re: Amazing Spider Man 2-WIP (Orhardar Pattern-93% Done!!!)

Wow it's been a while.
Well sadly I haven't been able to continue on the suit since I'm still waiting for my Spring Break (which is in around a week) However, I do have a time stamp on a date on which I should make the suit at least presentable. On April 19 I will go to a children's cancer awareness event since I was asked to assist as Spider-Man! Also besides that, this Sunday I will be filming a TV commercial for a local con. (I am the one directing and filming the commercial) so I have thankfully come a long way! I'll leave some pics here of my old suit with my new TJack lenses. (Disclaimer: this is a DGP 2nd version print that was bought around a month before it was revealed where this suit was stolen from. Even though the completely stolen suit is the 3rd version. I do not endorse stealing of any sort and only use it since I had already bought it, added the shoes and everything. That is one of the reasons I am changing to the ASM 2 suit) Also a comparison between Joelai's ASM V1 lenses and TJack's ASM 2 lenses.

Re: Amazing Spider Man 2-WIP (Orhardar Pattern-93% Done!!!)

So guys I have spring break and now it is time to start working on the suit once more!!!

Some updates I wanted to say:
Received my urethane spider and it is "amazing"! Just need some tips on how to glue it on to the suit and how to clean the residue on he edges.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397324569.532306.jpg

Also had a semi pro photo shoot with my ASM 1 suit and I decides to use TJacks lenses... Best... Idea... Ever!

Re: Amazing Spider Man 2-WIP (Orhardar Pattern-93% Done!!!)

Just search in the junkyard for a thread created by "modellbaubert" he is the one that sold me this awesome front spider.

Also some updates:
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397755145.141257.jpg
Suit with everything up until now.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397755174.665569.jpg
Gluing the urethane spider.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397755193.933920.jpg
Working on my boxing shoes.

I cut up the boxing shoes and removed the interior foam so it wouldn't show as much through the Lycra. Then, I resewed that so it didn't break away when I started to use the shoes in the suit. Trying to finish this off by Saturday since I have to go to an event for a Children's Cancer Research Hospital and will make a small show of me and Captain America battling Hobgoblin.

Re: Amazing Spider Man 2-WIP (Orhardar Pattern-95.7% Done!!!)

Hey! This is an awesome build.

Just curious what kind of glue did you end up using for the urethane spider?

Suit with fully attached spider and final puff painted webs. I used Locite Brand superglue. (Green casing which gives extra time)
