In July 2008 I started my build of a replica Hartnell (Brachacki) TARDIS. I completed this build in June 2010. My original build diary is located on TARDIS Builders. I wanted to post a gallery here of the build.
That looks great.
I never noticed the asymmetry of the handles before.
Do you use it as a tool shed or anything? I want to build one, but I would really need a practical use for it. If it were larger, it would be a nice shed or doghouse.
So rare to see one modeled from the first TARDIS. Nice job!
Thanks! If you made the doors swing out it could easily be used as a tool shed. You can fit 4 adults inside her. I really just wanted to have it in the yard so I can look at her when I feel like it. I am thinking about getting some backlit screenprint inside so when the door is opened you can see the illusion of how big it is inside.
Yeah, I always thought that I would build it against a building and have it open to the building as well as the normal front doors.
That way, when you opened the doors, you could see into the larger building behind it and sort of create that illusion of greater space.
The backlit should work well, I hope you are able to do it!

I swear I've seen a youtube vid where someone has done that (indoors) where the Tardis covers the door to a room that's been decked out in the 80's console room style.
Angelus Lupus, you would be correct on that. Over on the TARDIS Builders forum the Moderator, Scarfwearer, built a complete 80's console room and his TARDIS is the entrance. It is an awesome sight to see.
