Tackling my second Coyle metal kit build!

No...that part has been simplified to just 14/ 9/15...thumb release latch, the screw to push the lever armature back and the screw to hold it in place...much simpler but it has to be done right or the cylinder doesn't open or close efficiently...

Here's a blow up of the new pro...I think. uploadfromtaptalk1404082158665.jpg

There are 3 tiny springs with this kit that, if lost, would make the build unfinishable...one for the trigger, one for the hammer and one for the brass cylinder release lever that you must make...then there's the bigger spring that the hammer pulls back on...I replaced it with a tighter one from a bass guitar bridge...it works much better now...

Ha! Yeah...I have a few extra guitar parts laying around...it was a perfect find too...I guess being a guitar repair guy/ builder pays off in the prop world too occasionally!?!
Ha! Ha! Ha!

So I got some more work done today on the blaster...aged the side covers and ammo housing...installed dummy wires for the green LEDs...they don't light up...and tried to wire up the clip but I didn't do something right so I'll try again tomorrow... all in all its looking pretty good! I'm shooting for the Worldcon kind of look, used not new!...hope you all enjoy! Cheers!

A few more shots I almost forgot!?!

So, there you have it! It has been really fun to build and now I await my next project coming in August from Japan... hint...hint...I'll post working photos of the LEDs and how I wired them as soon as I get them working along with more final shots as well...til then! Cheers!

Thanks Joberg!!! Just got to rewire the LEDs... I messed up the wiring cause I was a bit tired...I get them going today, then this puppy hits eBay...we'll see what happens from there! Cheers!

Hey dude, do you have any photos of the Trigger assembly? specifically how you fitted the springs/pins?

thanks man

I actually do not but I can try to explain it for you. The front trigger I drilled a small hole in the top of right behind the the spot where the pin goes...then I slid the trigger in place and slid the join into place while putting a small touch of super glue on the outside of each depot where where the pin shows through the frame (while making sure not to glue the trigger so it doesn't move!) As for the rear functioning trigger...I took the longer small spring that is included in the kit and placed it in the provided spot in the rear of the trigger and I super glued it in place using an accelerant to help it set fast, used the pin and super glue as I did with the front trigger..they both now work. The front doesn't have any functions but at least it can be pulled without damaging the blaster! Hope. This helps???
