Tackling my second Coyle metal kit build!

Here are the parts after a quick buffing...I then treated them with Jaxx pewter black dye...after you rinse the parts off..BE SURE TO WEAR GLOVES W/JAXX, VERY DANGEROUS CHEMICAL!!!

I have no idea where to even buy that stuff. I've never seen it here and can't find any on EBay.

I bought it on eBay...its on there...look under pewter dyes or Jaxx pewter black...if just pewter black...I found a big old bottle of it for about $20.00

I dye all the pewter parts...I paint the resin ones...I do not polish the side covers or the outer grip frame as much so they turn a natural darker shade...I don't paint my outer grip frame I leave it the darker pewter dye color. I like the way it looks, more natural to me...

Cool thanks man. i'm wondering If I have ask you that question before. have to run back through the thread again.

Hmmmm...well its the dye used to make stained glass windows... maybe there's something like it in your country...? Good Luck!

Hey dude, could you share some insight in how you fitted the cylinder? specifically im trying to find out how to fit the brass rods and springs to connect to the release mechanism,

appreciate any help and pics :)

If you check out this thread ...maybe my other one? I have explicit photos of that very part of the assembly.. but, here you go.
There should be a solid brass rod and a sleeve. The rod fits in the sleeve and should be long enough to hang out one side. There are some smaller brass hitting that came with the kit, they fit into each other then the small sleeve should slide onto the solid rod easily. After making sure they fit pull the solid rod out and slide the small spring onto the solid rod behind the retaining sleeve...insert the rod into the brass sleeve and it should have a springing action to push the pin you will make on the front of the rod into the hole in the body where the thumb release screw inserts. Once you know how deep the pin needs to be super glue it in place and file the edges til they are rounded off..you have just made the release pin mechanism for the cylinder... again, check my photos on my last build I believe there are good photos in there! Hope this helps...cheers!

OK...I'm just about done fitting all the parts together...a few tweaks tomorrow then I will disassemble it, sand it, buff it, dye it and rebuff it again until I get the desired finish I'm looking for! So til then if you got any questions feel free to ask! Thanks for looking and a quick shout out to the admins here...thanks for your hard work...til tomorrow...cheers!
Here's the section of the build...page 3...
