T1 and T2 Endoskeleton Research Thread

how do I find your thingverse uploads again? couldn't find you after I tried searching
My Thingiverse page is listed in the first post in this thread. However, I will probably take down the Terminator stuff soon.

If anyone has this 3D file and can share it, I would be grateful. The model I have does not include most of the detailed scoring lines.
There are a few Endo Arms with the forearm cuff piece on Thingiverse

I think I showed a youtube video of a guy showing off his fixed ICONS endoskeleton. But might as well show it again.

Here's his WIP page from when he was working on it. He was okay with me posting it here.

I have a friend in financial trouble and I'm forwarding all my made models to him so he can earn a little from them and will let him post the rest I'm working on now. They won't be expensive, but just a little would really help him. I cannot post a link to his uploads here, as I am not a premium member, but can probably mention the site names when he gets them up. Sorry if this is an inconvenience to everyone... I just wanted to help a friend and that's how I knew how.

New upcoming auction from Juliens has a leg piston. It is slightly different than the ones from the LFS kit, but it could be an artifact of this one being machined.

Notice how the top part is an add-on, so the piece is made from 2 different parts. At least it doesn't just look like weathering giving that effect. Also interesting to see how wide the openings are... so the add-ons in both ends just popped right into it.

I will try to model this one for an SWS line-up of pistons. I'll check if it matches up to T1 or T2 or both.

Here's the full auction page. It has a few cool items in there.

Finished the rotations of the "spoon" parts of the last few pistons. Now I just need to sculpt that screw and bolt for the bottom. Found some videos on youtube about a program called FreeCAD. I may check it out and see if I can do all the pistons and such as CAD models.

I have 3 models from 3 makers and none of them have anything more than the very basic lines on the cuff piece. All are pretty much the same, and missing 1/2 the detailed lines. It's the only piece that I need at this point.

You can probably get one of Skynet2029's model for $10 to get that piece. I'll check the free models I have from other sites and see if they have the details and can send it to you if they do... no promise they will fit with what you have.

Does the Kerag model on Thingiverse have the detail on those pieces?

The issue is not Danish. It's USPS being weird.

Anyway... finished the LFS style hand pistons. These are seen in original SWS pieces too... uncertain whether it's in T2, but definitely from T2:3D onward.

I cheaped out and didn't do the screw knurling on the screw and inside the nut. I'm thinking people can just glue them down or get real screws.

First attempt of placing the endo parts in the Arnold body. It doesn't fit perfectly, but it looks nice. I used the reduzed models I use to sculpt the T1 bust, as well as Ghostman photogrammetry scans as the individual parts were smaller file sizes than mine, so easier to manipulate more of them at a time. Will add the rest of the parts soon, just had to stop for the night.

Didn't have time to perfectly place the arms, so they still need some tweaking.

Can try and do one next to the Arnold body tomorrow.

The Endoskeleton just can't seem to fit snugly into Arnold's body.
But the Genisys seems to almost fit.

Well, they made the Genisys endo to fit into the Genisys Arnold. Makes sense.

Always felt the arms on the SWS one were too long. Your comparison shows that clearly. Would have been cooler if they had just scanned the original for Genisys and then digitally manipulated the parts to fit, instead of making that overdesigned version, with that ugly skull that doesn't fit.

The Genisys one just looks like a toy... so flimsy in parts and bulky in others - aestethically disproportionate. The SWS looks like a beast, and I do not think that that is just nostalgia talking. Just look at those two comparisons. The difference is insane.

And man, you are better at placing the endoskeleton inside Arnold than I am. Cool.

So the issues with the SWS not fitting is the shoulder motors having parts being too big, shoulders sticking out too much, upper arms being too long, cuff part of lower arm (too big and round), pelvis being a little too big and too wide, upper leg being too clunky down near the knee.

All this could easily have been fixed without altering the look of the endoskeleton too much.

Many of the issues can be fixed by simply scaling some of the parts down by roughly 5-10% or maybe more and the rest just needing some tweaks to the models.

"Easy" fix for a skilled modeler.

There are differences between the two spine 3D models shown. One of them only has the bottom one added to match the Cinemaquette placement of the one-piece section of piece 2-5. The other has top 3 connected, with the 1st and 2nd spine rotated, moved and added to the rest. In my view the one where the top four is matched to the one-piece section of the Cinemaquette is the way to go, with the 1st piece being open to being moved around to fit. The other... looks nice, but breaks the Cinemaquette one-piece that had 4 connected pieces in a single aligned row.

Hope that makes sense.

Trying to figure out which version of these two people prefer, because, even though it broke up the Cinemaquette alignment... the more manipulated one may be more pleasing to look at.

Guess no one has an opinion, so we'll just go with the left one.
You were too fast for my response. This was an exercise in "How many different details are missing from one spine to the next":p
Yes, you're right: the left one is better...but not by much from where I stand;)(y)(y)
