Sylvie (Loki series) costume piece ID’s

First attempt at "Sylvie's sleevies" are done and her belt is done! (Will add sword sheath later)
The belt looks fantastic! Great job.

Here's another look at her pants that I pulled from an image I saw on Twitter. Really nice look at the waistline and where it fastens. I really like that Thai fisherman pants pattern for this and can't imagine it would be too hard to modify.

I'm in a Loki Facebook group as well and listed these on my Etsy by request: Sylvie Sleeve Detail No obligation obviously, just throwing that out there :)
I was actuay gonna ask you if you'd possibly be up to selling kits XD definitely buying this once I have money again (recovering from buying the boots)

The belt looks amazing!!

So my boots came in!!! My wallet is sobbing BUT they're perfect and they fit (which I was SUPER worried about) also holy cow is this what proper arch support feels like lmao

I also picked up fabric for my pancho/cloak. I live in FL so I opted for more breathable fabrics and I'm pretty happy with what I found. Gonna probably construct it this weekend. I also picked up just some outdoor canvas for the chest piece base because I know that'll be sturdy.

Aaaaah I love your boots! I've been looking through tactical boots trying to find some with a similar curve in the sole over the arch that don't cost an arm and a leg. I found some I did like but they're out of stock in my size so oh well, the search continues. Can I ask if you got the canvas from an online retailer? I haven't gone window shopping yet and am unsure of where to start.

I got duck canvas from Joann. Not sure if that helps? I know very little about canvas but the stuff I got looks the part!

Oohh! Love that poncho fabric! I'm still waiting on my green lining to arrive via snail mail. I've got a couple options coming in but I think the 2nd one (that I prefer) wont' make it in time for my deadline.

I've got both leather and foam options available for the "Sylvie sleevies" listed now! Leather is more durable, but I think the foam may adhere a little better with fabric. I'm doing some tests as we speak!

I got all my fabrics from Joann Fabrics (I'm impatient lol)

Awesome boots! I love the fact that they appear to have zippers on the inside heh heh. What are you using for your cloak/poncho pattern base? I have ordered some nice wool twill in carbon black, and a twill lining that is more of a medium forest green (the lighter yellow-based cactus/olive/kiwi green is not the most flattering color for me LOL) I will experiment with patterning next weekend once the fabric shows up. :)

The black is a Twill and the Olive is actually a lightweight denim. I needed things that breathed xD

Here's a neat Easter egg on Sylvie's costume design. It was made to enable pumping/nursing. Picture also gives some little detail on the undershirt, collar, and sleeves. And here is a bunch of reference screen grabs I took.

Kinda looks like the only not custom parts are the boots and probably the pants.
I finally was able to watch the making of Loki video on Disney+ last night. Grabbed some useful screenshots. Interesting to note that the little gold rectangles on the right side of her breastplate are actually held on by little gold rivets. And yes, there is a green section on the left side, not gold rectangles. Interesting. Hopefully future interviews with the amazing costume designer will reveal the story behind all of this! Note: I am also posting my horde of images to my Sylvie Pinterest board, if anyone else is interested in digging through the collection heh heh. 98 Loki Sylvie Laufeydottir costume ideas in 2021 | loki, marvel cinematic universe wiki, the minutemen

So what is the exact brand of the boots Sylvie wore in the Loki series? If someone could provide a picture of the boots that would be great. Also, what about the gloves and cape? Any information on the outfit would be great.

Wow, I’m so happy I stumbled upon this thread! This Sylvie costume will be my first ‘proper handmade’ cosplay so all your tips have been extremely helpful.

I’m currently working on the body.

What are you guys using for the golden elements inbetween the pieces and on the right side of the waist?

I used faux, non shiny leather in green, black and gold. I used filling to create depth at the separate pieces in front. It’s not 100% accurate to the original but I’m working with what I’ve got :p

For the cape/jacket, I’ll be using viscose as the outer layer with green cotton lining. I wanted it to be breathable and flowy like in the fight scenes.

2PlayerGame awesome that you found those details on the sleeves, I didn’t even notice those! Will defo use your pictures as a guide.
PDXmaja funny to see how you pinned the same patterns as I found myself for the cape, hehe.

Further up in the thread its mentioned :D

Hey very new to this site but I thought I'd share how I am going to tackle Sylvie's bodysuit (undergarments). All this info on this thread is so helpful to me so thank you to everyone contributing. I've written all of this down in my little notebook but the easiest thing for me probably is buying an already made bodysuit with a turtle neck (which I can easily remove and use for patterning). Originally I was going to make it all from scratch but my overlocker is not in the best of condition. I went out and bought some pleather yesterday because Spotlight sale yahoo! I also bought some gold fabric for the accents on the sleeves and neck but I think the different materials contrast too much so I might painstakingly hand paint the details on with some metallic gold paint. Also grabbed some batting for the shoulder pad business that is happening. As for the circle sleeve details, might just make something up in illustrator and cut some craft foam with the cricut. But yeah I agree... top stitching that feels like a nightmare so hopefully with some glue and pressing in the crevices it should look just as effective. Also bodysuit was the way for me to go personally because it will sit a lot nicer under the pants than a shirt I think? Also the pants. I have seen a really helpful pattern linked previously but what fabric are yall thinking? I thought about linen but I am looking for a better alternative. Can't really tell what fabric is used from the photos but its definitely woven

here's the link for the boots. I don't think they were the velvet ones but it's this brand. Again, more pics further up the thread :p

This is what I'm using for the gold elements, but I'm not sure if it will work for your version: https://www.joann.com/hildie-jo-7in-strand-metal-spacer-bar-2-hole-oxidized-silver/13898226.html (I had to spray paint them) I've got the first two in so far and am moving on to the lower two soon.

Ok thanks! I found the original boots but they are sold out everywhere. But the hunt continues! I saw earlier on the thread the talk about the pants and I really like this link that goes to the pattern of the black pants shown. Sadly I do not sow but if anyone finds pants that look like the black ones shown in the link let me know!

Ok so I’ve been trying to find the exact brand of boots and I can’t decide if it’s option 1: Rombaut Boccaccio Onyx boots (women), option 2: Rombaut Boccaccio Carbon boots (women), or option 3: Rombaut Boccaccio lace up ankle boots (men). The ones on the show look to be more leathery but I’m not sure because all three of these boots look like they could be the original she wore.

let me know which one is the original! :)

I know the girl who was the stand in for Sylvie during production and she said that production bought all of the actual style, so the closest altnerative is - https://rombaut.myshopify.com/.../boccaccio-ii-boot-dry...)

So you wouldn’t happen to know the exact boots? Those ones soles go up too high.
Far as I know, that's the right brand and style but I think the "leather" finish is the only thing that varies. Aside from that, I'm not sure what the show used.
