Supernatural:John Winchester's Journal

Well, if anyone is interested I think I figured out the brand. I was taking a look at the Bluray and it shows the strip of metal the rings are attached to and it looks like its made by AVERY. Unless there's another logo that has those little triangles it has to be.

yeah, this is the one prop I really wanna get done....thanks for the heads up on potential lead.

I've looked all over at day planners and am convinced it is as such but just can't find one with the right number of rings so far.

Alright boys and girls, I just got word (from an inside source) that the ORIGINAL SUPERNATURAL JOURNAL is NOT store bought. That's right kids, the ORIGINAL JOURNAL is made by the props department for the show. No wonder I could NEVER find one of these damn things........:facepalm

OK, with all of that being said I am going to venture out and see if I can have this Journal made by someone. I know what you all are thinking, how in the hell can I get it made if we really don't know what it looks like? Well, lets just say that I got my hands on some pictures showing EVERYTHING I would need to know about making one just like the show! :love

I will keep you all posted on what I can come up with and just on a side note, the 3rd Division Marine pin stated at the begining of this post is INCORRECT. TRUST ME, all in due time I will revel the correctness of the ever so famous journal.

Yeah, that would certainly explain it. Have been searching for eternity for one....

Looking forward to hearing more on your project :)

Chris

Well last night I did a ton of homework on the journal and I have found the CORRECT 3 ring metal binder that is used in the ORIGINAL journal, the CORRECT clear pages used in the Original journal and a few other correct pieces. Now I am hoping the company that makes the metal binders will sell me a few of them as I'm not 100% sure they are still made. If they do I will start looking for someone who can actually make the leather journal. If all of this works out I should be able to make a journal 99.9% accurate to the shows. CROSS YOUR FINGERS EVERYONE!!!!

I know what you mean, I think I have been searching for a good two years now. :eek

I bet I can have this journal made with no problems at all. The photos I have of it has EVERYTHING taken out of it so one can tell how it was made plus you can see all the little holes where the military medals were hung on it. It is actually a VERY NICE PIECE and looks as if one would have bought it from a store. The prop department over there on the set is TOP NOTCH! I actually got my licence plates from them and they are REALLY COOL! My hats off to that crew......:thumbsup

Afraid not, but I do have ton of screen grabs showing a lot of them. Another thing to keep in mind, some of the pages in the journal actually has the actors lines in it. I saw a deal with Jesen and a prop person and they said they sometimes put the actors lines in it so they don't forget their lines. Just goes to show you it's not everything you see on the show...:$

soooo , there is a book out titled John Winchester's journal that is actually out , but does anybody actually know what the contents of it are , like does it contain the information that it does in the show? and also does anyone know where I'd be able to find a planner or whatever that looks like the one from the show that contained all of John's information on the supernaturla creatures because versus buying one I'd love to make my own partially because I don't have the money needed to actually buy one of the ones made by the wonderfully detail oriented fans , I'm OCD about details too but I think I'd like to make my own "props" as much as humanly possible instead of buying them and the journal seems like a good start, since I'll have to buy the "costuming" things.

The binder - judging from the clasp, looks a bit like an agenda I saw called a Tuscany Caravaggio ....Its VERY expensive though, over $300, ( film companies usually get expensive uncommon props ) You can see a photo of it ( I typed Filofax photos, then in the photos section I typed " Leather agenda " and looked through the photos untill I saw the Tuscany and it looks very similar.

How do you get all these things? Every time I look at your posts I'm like Damn, I want to be that guy :lol

Well that's funny, I have NEVER had anyone that wanted to be me....:$

I had the journal made with the help from my friends who actually work for the show and a VERY GOOD leather worker. It took a long time to get everything just right but right but oh man was it worth the wait.....:cool Once everyone gets there journals in their hands I will post some REALLY AWESOME photos showing the journal in ALL IT'S GLORY....:love
This journal was done so perfect that it could fool anyone on the set of Supernatural and they probably would never know the difference....:$
