Supernatural Colt found!

I found a 1:1 replica of the 1851 Navy colt, it's actually a butane lighter. :lol But no luck on the Paterson.
I did however find a lead on some blueprints for the Paterson. I'll post the info once I get a reply.

A-HA (not the band, though they're pretty great, too)!

It's not a Pietta (the addition of the manufacturer's name in the text thwarted my initial searches, but leaving it out took me to pages about the history of the original gun, not sales links).

No engraving (except some kooky action on the cylinder, from the looks of things) - but it's stateside and less pricey...

Thanks, Grenade King - for lighting a fire under my butt to make another search!

DEATHSTALKER - YOU ROCK !!! I would even like a Resin cast of the PLAIN version without the engraving. $ 319.00 is a bargain for the real thing ! (Not that I am hunting DEMONS - : ) But FINDING a "COLT" is half the battle. GREAT Job ! Keep going !

If you hear back it'll probably be one of these...

If it turns out to be something different please post them!!!

It was something different. These prints are apparently good enough for a gunsmith to make working pistol. Again I know nothing of these types of things so I could be wrong. Either way I haven't heard back yet. I'll have to resend my request..

EDIT- Great pics there though. The top one is actually a paper prop of sorts. It's the one Bobby has on his desk while trying to rebuild the colt.

Neat project...the cartridge conversion like that is doable, but quite the pain in the nether regions :angel

I have a Texas Paterson with 9" barrel. I will begin molding dummies if people are interested. I can do solid casts. Hammer back/trigger down or hammer down, trigger up. I can also make both if there is enough interest. How would you guys prefer? Unpainted in solid black or finished for a higher price? I could do a solid model for 60 without any paint and a completed for 125. PM me with interest or email me direct at iron.canvas.782@gmail.com

Thanks!

Sorry if I've disobeyed the forum rules. Again, feel free to contact me and I'll work on getting the posts in the Junkyard.

I wanted to throw up some pictures of my Texas Paterson. Notice how the trigger unfolds when the gun is ******. I'm thinking of casting these so there is a true supernatural replica. Mine is not the fully engraved model, but that's easily added. They are a neat gun. Let me know what you think.

I'm going to do either a full frozen cast of the piece with the hammer back and trigger down or hammer down trigger up.

I'm also debating molding several parts. I would separate the barrel, cylinder, and frame. This would allow the cylinder to rotate and make it a little more realistic. I would also pull the grips so they could be done in wood or however desired.

Give me some feedback!

Count me me ***king in!!!!

I gave up looking for the uberti replica and I don't have $300k to buy the real one displayed at the local Firearms store. :thumbsup

Hope this helps, and it's not a repeat:

The pistol is a Pietta, Model 151A, Colt Paterson "Extra Deluxe" - not cheap at all -looks like over a grand in U.S. dough. Here's a link to a catalog of BP (Black Powder) guns, showing Pietta's lineup. I do own 5 or 6 BP pistols - flintlock and percussion cap, and about the same number of BP rifles. No Colts, repro or otherwise...

Are these still being made? Would I have any issues importing to the US?

Black Powder pistols can be mailed directly to you. I should think you could find a dealer within the states. Check with your state & city. New York, for instance, is pretty tough on all pistols.

Just noticed you're in Texas DVDvampire. you shouldn't have any problems:lol

Ask around at some gun dealers somebody should be able to round one up for you

Uberti and Pietta no longer make these replicas. The price is going up like crazy. They are almost 700 now if you can find one with the 9" barrel. Mine has never been fired. I'm just trying to gauge interest so I dont make the molds for one person. PM me or email me for more info. Which configuration would you prefer?

They won't let me start an interest thread since I don't have enough posts. If I can get 6 people so sign on, I'll begin production!
