Supernatural 1967 Impala Conversion

jghanks,

I'll be rebuilding the front end suspension in the next month or so. I'll try and do a tutorial with pics even though it's pretty obvious. I know anyone that has one of these cars is going to have to do this at some point. All the front end stuff on my car is original. So I could cry about the posts or I could bask in the fact it's a one owner made in Janesfield. I love it regardless, it's the front end and rear that set it off for me. Coming from working on and messing with performance Japanese cars and other foreign nightmares how simple this girl goes together is so elegant with lots of soul.

Here is a young kid building a 327, they have a lot less going on that modern motors.

So I guess it just depends on how much stuff you guys want me to cover on my build. Any of the members here do build threads? I know that's big on car message boards, taking creamy hi res pics of all the progress. Any who, if you guys have any mechanical questions feel free to PM me. I'm sure I'll return the favor by asking a million questions about subtle details you guys can tell me from watching the show. I mean after all I stumbled across this thread trying to figure out how the interior was done, with the tone of tan not being a factory color. Then finding out it was spray dye, which makes life easier considering my interior is fine other than being 60s powder blue. Any of you guys that have already done the conversion with your sports sedan, any way I could get some good interior shots? I've notices how the chrome trim is different on the post model. How the interior of the sports sedan has a chrome plated liner on the edges where as mine is some kind of fabric liner. Trying to figure out if the interior lines are the same where I could just buy sport sedan trip and bolt it up or if this will be one of those moments I call in favors for custom metal trim.

Thanks for any details and being such friendly people.

Hey any know where I can find a drivers side door glass mine was shattered and I don't want to pay 200$ for one any help would be awesome.

Hello everyone! I recetly bid for that radio that was on this thread but ended up not getting it because it wasn't the right radio. But i just got a second chance ebay offer and I was wondering what you guys thought, is it even worth buying even though its for less than what it sold for the first time?

When I first went looking for an Audiovox Rampage AV2000. I thought I would never find one, but I wound up finding a brand new one still in the package. It 's really up to you!
I wanted to get one exactly like the one used on the show. The car stereo is only really worth about $20 bucks. If you get it for that, then it's only 20 wasted if you find the one you really want. I would also keep my eyes out a AV3000. They look the same as the AV2000 used on the show. Over the last year I've seen two or three AV3000's come up on Ebay and about two AV2000's. They were all new too!

If you are going to pay more then 50 bucks on it don't waste your money

Copy that! :thumbsup

Just to let you know Rudy. I did pay a good penny for mine, but it's the exact one. I did see a used Audiovox for sale that is really close to the right radio, but again it's used and not the right one. It was listed for $75 dollars search for Audiovox 3000-c car radio on Ebay. Buy both and take the cassette door and mount it on this one. Maybe $50 wouldn't be so bad. Either way it wouldn't be the right radio. So if that's your goal then your going to just keep looking. I did see a AV3000 listed on a salvation army web site in Oregon, but I missed the listing by two weeks. Emailed them and they told me I would have to wait to see if it would be re-listed. It never was.... Was listed for 19 dollars. That was in March or April of this year.

I kind of have the car. Sedan isn't quiet a sports sedan, but I'll rock it all the same :D

Wasn't trying to start anything, figured who ever was looking for one would want to snipe it. I have a good coleman cooler that is ironically also green but not a prop in a TV show. One day I might get one just to have beers out of the back of my Impala, we'll see. lol Front end work, paint job, interior, and wheels with tires rank higher on my list.
