Supernatural 1967 Impala Conversion

Sweet as, mate. Taking my seats out this weekend so they can get appropriately re-trimmed. Will attack the carpet whilst it's out, but I'm unsure which way to go. I want to colour it to match the interior, as you have done (I'l ask a question about that next), but I also have half a mind to just lay black carpet; I have a habit of getting things dirty and black hides it better :)

Question for Rick, #313: I now you mentioned the carpet in you door panels was done by someone else. It also seems to match the carpet on the floor perfectly. Do you know if this was painted/dyed with the Light Buckskin colour, or is it simply an already existing coloured carpet that happened to match?

Answer #313............... :) When I bought my carpet (for Stefany's and my Impala) I bought extra carpet for the door panels. I think the extra cost was something like $75. I did it this way so when the carpet was from the same dye lot which means it matches 100%. As for keeping the carpet clean you don't have to worry about that too much as I am going to put the same floor mats that are used in the Original car and let me just say they are BIG SOB's and you don't actually see much of the carpet. This will be done this weekend along with putting in the front seat, steering wheel, the front carpet and wiring the spotlights. Yes, there will be more videos on youtube along with photos on this site................ :)

Well Boys and Girls, it was a VERY LONG weekend but as you can see in the photos a lot of things were done to the car. First the Interior is 99.5% done.....:) Along with the interior being completed I also got all new Rear Brakes (shoes, springs and drums) installed along with NEW Rear Shocks, Rear Springs and a NEW Rear Sway Bar installed. Like I said a VERY Long Weekend! OH YEAH, I also installed the CORRECT KS License Plates on the car......:cool

Looking great Rick.

Regarding the front Kraco floor mat, where did you get it form and what was the colour name?

JC Whitney sell a "Lt Brown" version, whilst Amazon sells a "Tan" version. Do you know if there is a difference between the two? The images look different, but that could simply be a photographic thing (flash etc) that creates the different look.

Going by their images I prefer the Amazon "Tan" as it's not as yellow, and looks a lot closer to the mat in your pics above of Stef's Impala.

Oh yeah ... ordered my spotlights from Unity last week. Hoping they get here soon :D

THANKS BROTHER...........................:D

I'm pretty sure the Lt Brown and Tan are the same color. I bought our floor mats from my local auto parts store which has them in stock.

I look forward to seeing your car with the spotlights on it...........................:cool

Yeah me too. Have been ogling the spotlights for yonks, but never took the plunge. I tried to find them second hand on eBay, but I could never find 2 the same, and when I could, the seller would never respond with shaft length so I could be sure they were correct. Bit the bullet and bought them straight form Unity. Keeping the ivory handles though. Will fit in with my "inspired by" rather than "exact" and look great with the white exterior.

I'll take the risk and order the mat from JCWhitney. Their shipping to me is about $100 less than Amazon.

Did you use the same piece for the rear mat as well?

Yes, both the front and rear mat are the same.....................:cool

Unity spotlights hurts the wallet......................:(

Yeah tell me about it. That's what kept me from buying them for the past 12 months. There are so many on eBay that cost so much less, but every time I asked a seller to measure the exposed shaft length, I rarely got a reply. The few times I did they were the wrong size.

Most of the interior is painted. Did the headliner today. All that's left to do is half the dash. Then it's time to get the seats re-trimmed. Then hopefully it'll be time to get the heads sorted so I can get it back on the road.

It's been hell not driving it. Only been off the road a few weeks and I miss it like crazy. Not even driving the 70 Challenger is fulfilling enough :(

Here is the one I just picked up from GA

24,000 original miles, 327, going to work on the weather stripping first, then fixing the few rust spots.
Rims, tires, engine, suspension then breaks.
Then interior which my seats are already done.

Still have a a lot to do but I just want to make it a perfect driving machine first then make it Deans.

Don't do the weather stripping until you get the car painted other wise you will have to replace it all again...........................:eek
