Superman Christopher Reeve bust revised, now FINISHED 11/9/2010

This bust looks like Stephen King.

I'd like to see you try and do better... Wheres tact gone these days

That is a staggering finish on that bust. The smallest tweak and all of a sudden I'm being stared out by The Man of Steel himself!

And Pattym, you'll go far here with constructive critism of that nature!

Forget about pattym, I'm really impressed with the sculpt and paint job. That's definitely the Superman that I grew up with

pattym is entitled to his opinion and the fact of the matter is that the likeness isnt perfect, i think i got very close and its easily recognisable as to who it is supposed to be but I can see several things that were not quite there. It is for that reason that I started a new sculpture pretty much straight after i finished this one which im hoping to finish real soon.

If that ends up looking like stephen king then i give up

One of the great things about this site is that it never, ever ceases to amaze me how much talent there is out there. That's an amazing sculpt chap, you must be well pleased with it. Gonna look well sweet when you're finished.

Thats true Rich but IMO some people on this site just don't care about artists feelings and just freely throw a nasty sideswip like in this case... I've seen the pics of your latest version mind - in the early stages and I know its gonna be fab!

Hi doug, I'll be posting pics when he is all finished in rubber. Hopefully in the next couple of months. Normally I would have just moved on to the next project and put this one down to experience but he is such an iconic character that I want to do him justice

Hi phil. There is always going to be some people that want to pick a fight, wether is a control thing or jealousy or just spite. I don't let these people bother me, we both know how much effort something like this takes and I'm proud of everything I have made (even if not totally satisfied)

You've got a lot of passion and it clearly shows through your work and every piece that I've seen. This also speaks to your desire to redo this piece... and what a true artist is made of. Rich, I can't wait to see the new Reeve :thumbsup
