There's a reason the LOH has as many members as it does--because it's fun! In fact, that's the main reason a lot of people do costumes. Your forum does not sound like any fun at all or something I would ever, EVER want to be a part of.

Also, it's CHARACTER, not carracter.

hahaha :thumbsup LOVE Adam West. Always wanted to meet him.

As for this forum, I wish you luck. Doesn't sound like I can be a member, Im fat, have a beard....

Too bad. I thought there was a hero in all of us. Only if youre fit apparently. Very sad that I am not included because of my shape and height and weight. It's like high school gym class all over again.

Good luck with your forum! :) Wish you the best, truly.

I'm out.

I deal with enough art direction in my real life.
Thanks and good luck.

Chuck...

Adam West IS Batman!
Some people have a latex allergy you know.:lol

That is not correct. There are carracters on villians and good guys i belive whould be costumes for you. You mentioned mark1 ironman.
I dont know your proportions. I got beard my self and working on the belly my self. I will never be a spiderman. I dont got the physical shape, i am to big for that. I could work Batman. Superman whould be a challange for me, i whould probably need a muscle suit and something to hold the extra on the sides tugged in.

I got limitation for who i can be and keep it realicly good and in carracter. :$ And there are forums for Adam West fans as well. Many of us got more than one suit. So there are many posibities. :thumbsup

i think it sounds great i am cant wait until it is released to the public and they are taking apps for it.. it is a group that no average joe can join it is something special to the public and with the charity work that this group will be doing it is a must that we have the highest quality costumes.

eventually once there is enough members we need to think about garrisons. and having garrison websites that way we can arrange events locally..:ninja

i think TMP super hero forum is going to be very big as long as everything is in its place and is done correctly..

I am a member of LOH my self. I love to se the variouse work. Many good people on the board. But as allot of other things. People got variouse goals.

I had allot of people contact me wanting to be appart of this to put more focus on the small details and put focus on mainting the CHARACTER (hope i wrote it correct) as belivable as possible to the movie or the comic.

I am not forcing anyone to join. If you dont like it then its ok.

It's an interesting concept. I have seen people try it before and fail, so I will be interested to see if you can make it work.

The likely scenario is that you will have a forum made up of maybe 20 people.
Conversation will get boring and eventually the majority of the 20 people will go back to the old forums.

I agree that if you are putting together an event and you need super heroes that you would cast the ones who look the best in the costume and do the characters justice, but at the same time, I feel that people have the right to costume as anything they want and have fun with it.

While you won't see me trying to pull off a character that I don't feel I do justice, there are plenty people out there who may feel differently.

Not only that, but it's all based on an opinion. There are probably some people out there that don't think you do your character(s) justice.

Anyway good luck to you. I have to honestly say that even though there are characters that I feel I can pull off, I don't really have interest in being part of something that is that strict. For me it's about socialization, friends and having a good time.

We will not require the people to be 100% lookalike... Even comics are different in carracter. The main intention is that the costumes are of great quality. Then if a normal slim built person is doing a comicbook batman then it whould require some muscle suit to proportion him correctly.

Most of superheros got mask, so for faces its about doing the carracter right. If the person has beard, then beard should be there. real or fake. if fake it should look good. And the other way arround.

based on the pride people have with thier costumes when they really put inn allot of efforts in getting accurate cannon costumes its worth trying.
We seen success with costumes like darth vader, stormtroopers, animater clone wars costumes beeing made and they strive to achive the best possible ressult. Once that is done then the wearer gets more pride and that shows when preforming. I seen good and bad stormtroopers... Why.. Well by just looking at it we se different armor. Some good some bad, some ok. In most cases people in the RPF if they got a Ok suit they try to make it better by improving parts or details on the costumes to make it more belivable and realistic.

BTW... We will also open to other Superhero carracters.

Zen has a point With the standards the way they are set might give the forum a short shelf life... But then again Gotham Public Works Has been a round for a bit & also had a high standard for there Characters.
http://www.gothampublicworks.com/

Now TMP made a point about Troopers & Vader 501st ect. Now these are real world suits most items are from movie Lineage Or Fan sculpt there are more sources for Star Wars items Vs Hero items.

Muscle suits are like Yamaha Guitars IMO They are ether great or pure carp lol. What I am getting at Is muscle suits are made to fit a certain sized person or are made on a base. So there is no one size fits all OR a decent muscle suit is just as pricey the costume if not more so. Even the muscle suits in films are made to the bodys of the actors and stunt men for a natrual look. And most of us can not affored to commission a suit of that level. But then again its not like I or anyone else couldn't make a home made muscle suit..... with a lot of work lol.

I myself am the size of Ultimate spider man in a movie suit:angel. So I doubt I meet the forum standards level.

Hey, it's your forum, so do what you want. But it does make me sad that if I want to do a Wolverine, that I won't be included. I just don't understand the reasoning behind NOT allowing a person to dress up as Batman because they are 5 foot 3 inches tall.

It just..... seems like such a NON inclusive group. One of the reasons that Wolverine appeals to me so much isn't because he has claws and gets into fights all the time.

Wolverine appeals to me because he desires so much to be a member of the group, yet has so much trouble being a part of the group.... it is how I felt as a teenager.

My point is, one of the reasons Wolvie appeals to me... because I am not muscular I can't be a part of your group and dress up as Wolvie.

Hey, I probably wouldn't even be able to ever finish the costume anyway:lol

i dont see what the big deal is.. if you are a true costume artist and love creating costumes then having standards should give you a challenge. Usually looking at characters i would want to be i try to put myself in there place physically comparing details about me and them.. if i feel like i wont match the part then i dont even attempt it..

i feel like this will strengthen the costuming realm all over the world..

Ok, so one question I have is; what is the positive of joining the site? I mean besides from a 'bragging rights' point of view? Are you guys going to focus on charity work and whatnot? If so, great. If not, whats the point? I mean, isn't costuming a hobby? There's a fine line between hobby and obsession.

I don't wish failure upon you, but where do you think this board is going to get you? As soon as you reject someone, they're just going to go to the LOH where they will be welcomed. Maybe not by everyone, and sure not everybody gets a parade thrown in their honor, but they'll be accepted. And in the end, isn't that what you want?

Again, I don't want this site to fail. Quite the opposite, actually. I want it to strive. There are plenty of geeks out there, and we should encourage all of them to continue their hobby. I'm just saying, there should be some kind of reason for getting into your good graces. Like with the 501st, if they are allowed in, their costumes get seen by the public. Events are set up for them. I think you should give that a shot yourself. Otherwise, people are just going to continue to go where they already fit in.

Good luck with the site!

A costume like this will be accepted. You have a extremly nice spiderman costume. You in that suit is a most credible Spiderman.
Here we se a suit with allot of attention to details. The raised webbings. A pure spandex suit just with print whould be harder.
Also you got the phoses correctly and the physic. This is a very well exexuted spiderman.

I am 6.1 and 220 lbs with now a 36 inch waistline. I could never be spiderman due to my build.

I am not saying you need to have muscle suits. We all se this is a good spiderman.

Please understand, we are not saying that we belive we as persons are better than others or elite people. Thats not it. You got it all wrong.

I will not stop you from dressing as your favorit carracter. Noby is telling you do to that. This group will be dedicated to try to make the carracter most possible credible to the comic and the movies. The only way to do that is to set a strict standards.

You may partisipate in the forum. But to become a member of the group you will need to meet the requirements.

Please understand i am not looking down on people. I share your entusiasem in costumes but I also know my limitation on who i faitfully can imperonate as a carracter. Like i said. i can never be spiderman... But i got other heros i can execute in a trustworthy way to stay to the ideal carracter... I know i spelt carracter.

Yes this group will focus on charity. We will not exlude anyone from the forum. But to become a member under the group the costume needs to be high standard and the person weaing it has to be a credible carracter.

Do you think a 5.7 tall vader with 8 inch kiss boots looks good?
Do you se a C3PO 6.4 tall?
Do you cosider a superman having a 44 inch waistline trustworthy?

Those costumes we are the most impressed about, the costumes we say wow to is those who is faitfully recreated. Why do we make the manequin in David prowse size for our vaders.. There are planty of maenquins...
We do it because we want it to look like the carracter as close as possible.

This is a replica prop board. We strive to replicate and set a high standard on the variouse work. We sculpt to what we se.
People make armor and helmets based of animation movies, and comic books and faithfully recreate them.

What I find hilarious is that this board is setting a "standards" for people dressing in superhero costumes? HAHAHA! Its one thing to want to create a "brand" and have followers, but its another thing to assume you're THE character you're dressing up as! There's obsession, and then theres insanity. No one is a superhero, no one is the character their portraying, they're all just damn costumes. Only over the internet do thinks like this fly. Unless anyone of the elite are Christian Bale, Robert Downey Jr, etc, then whos really surpassing who in costuming strengths? No one, because you all/we're all fans.
I would like to see a decent set of IronMan armor is what I would like to see. Something that doesnt look plastic. I want to see a slender male the same build as RDJ in a suit that is %100 accurate. I've never seen that before, so anything else is "just fan made, not good enough".
I also want to see another sales pitch for some muscle suits. I also want to see those muscle suits even further, look good. OR better yet, hit the ****ing gym. Get out from behind the comic book stack, get out from behind the monitor, and hit the gym. Otherwise you're not the part. Right, elites?

Ok. Tell me why you faitfully is recreating the Joker mask? When you wear it you pose like the carracter and you imitate what the joker did in the movie... Let me get you some promotion and reffer to the link: http://therpf.com/showthread.php?t=52463
Wow... You took the time looking for simialr boots, gloves, bag and card... You even put on makeup and colored your hair.
:confusedSo your pointing the finger at us?:confused Come on.... :rolleyes

Why did you take all these steps to replicate the carracter as close as possible.
Obsession??? I belive You are taking against your self.

If you so belive in what your saying. Tnen why did you not colour your hair Pink or blue. wore boots instead of the shoes. Took another mask with a smile. Because why the obsession with trying to faitfully replicate the carracter.. Thats just noncence... OR IS IT?

This to me shows dedication. Dedication is what we are looknig for.

You could make a very credible carracter.
You already got the played in joker personality. Sarcastic and the HAHAHA :) Perfectly executed! PS!... I think your obsessed.

On the subject of Wolverine. In the comic's he is 5'3 195 pounds (Without Adamantium skeleton) But in the movie's he is 6'2 220.... That's a foot in height jump. How would someone who wishes to be wolverine be handled?

I look forward to a site that has some sort of rules that they actually follow for a change. Setting standards is alwasy a tricky thing, but, if u are the one setting up the site and the moderator you can do what u want. If someone doesn't like it,. there are many other boards to try out where u can be "welcomed" and "accepted". I myself welcome these efforts.

All depends on what he is chasing. Movie or comic. Both generas will have to be executed in the end after the carracter they are portraying.

In the Marvel Universe they have Wolverine listed as 5'3".
He has is he from 5'3" (early comics to around 5'8" / 6.2 newer comics)
He grows slowly fast... heheh :lol

However usually he is drawn equal hight as everyone else.
In Wolverine Origins he is drawn the same height as Deadpool.
Deadpool is listed as 6'2".

Like i said before. Each suit is individually evaluated.

Lets be logic about this. No need to take it to th extreme. Because its not the issue. Quality and appearence is the essintial.
