Super Star Destroyer paint scheme

Ok I painted my 38" super Star Destroyer Blue /Grey but looks very
plain and toyish looking, even with a wash it won't be enough and would look out of scale IMO.

I was concidering doing a very light tile pattern all over the hulls, using lighter and darker of the base color, these of course should be very tiny to give the illusion of correct scale, did the original have a tile pattern I can't seem to see it in refference photos?

I dont even thing the prop had any tiling as far as i can see either GF.
Its a tough one, maybe its the use of scribing and pencil work on the prop that throws it off?
I will say most of the small kits ive seen seem to be too blue, giving a toyish appearance.
Maybe preshading on the cityscape etc and VERY subtle tiling could work, even try out the pencil technique like on the Avenger and Devastator, just shading in small panels etc.

Gerrardo, do you have pics of your paint job? It may be easier to assess what can be done with pics. Shoot em to me in email if you like.

I know this is kind of counter intuitive but try examining it in "low light" and light angles designed to create shadows. On screen the ship is rearely seen in full light... It might be scewing your preception a bit. If it still loooks toyish to you you might consider lightening the main hull color a bit and lightly scribing lines. They would never show up on camera but your eye will see them and make a differnece. One of the main reasons this works is it applies a contrast to the superstructrure greeblies - it make s it a bit more dramatic. if you haven't done it applying a good matte dullcoat might help as well...

I thought I remembered reading that the Super Destroyer did have paneling details that were down to 1/16 of an inch. Of course this information came from "Star Wars to Indiana Jones" which is full of errors so take that for what it's worth...
