Stuff you're waiting for people don't know you are

I'm glad you get it Larry! LOL I dont have enough time in the day to talk about all the different movies,tv shows, characters, comics, cartoons, games and toys that I love

It was a TV created (with Edgar's supervision) yell anyway, it might be signature but hardly necessary IMO it could be changed up to a more 'ape' like call and be pretty kosher in my book...
Unless "TV" stands for something other than "television", this is also incorrect--the now iconic Tarzan yell was created by MGM sound recordist Douglas Shearer for the 1932 film Tarzan the Ape Man. But I agree, a more ape-like roar would work just as well.

Every time it comes up I repeat myself on this particular soapbox... I want to see a FAITHFUL version of Heinlein's Starship Troopers with Mobile Armor and the works. I'm pretty easygoing about folks liking what they like but for me personally, the Verhoeven movie was literally (and I do mean "literally" in the literal sense of the word) was a complete mockery of the book. Verhoeven pretty much said nearly as much himself... I know some folks hate the book but it's my #1 favorite scifi book. The only thing I like about what Verhoeven's movie are the design of the bugs. They did that part well but it's the only thing I like about it personally (with apologies to the fans of the film.)

I'd also like to see the Wheel of Time fantasy series made into films like the Lord of the Rings but I don't think it's popular enough to merit a major motion picture for 13 or 14 rather long novels :lol

I meant more "film" created when I typed TV... And the first 'film' adaptation of the sound actually recorded in Tarzan the Tiger (1929) beyond that there is a lot of fuzz in regards to the current incarnations true origin, lots of people claim lots of things but either way Edgar's estate owns the trademark to the now commonly known version...

I personally would rather believe it was more of a Ape scream or growl as it would make more sense...

I meant more "dome light" when I typed "rack-and-pinion steering."

AHAHAHAHAHAHA

Hardly the difference between a dome light and rack-and-pinion steering" more like electric or hydraulic assisted steering vs rack-and-pinion steering if you want to go there...

For me (and likely most everyone) the movies that started it were long gone from the big screen well before my time so for me I relate it to TV programming as that is the only medium I have seen it on...

:lol :thumbsup

Thanks for clearing that up Exoray. Since the Burroughs estate owns the rights to the yell, I wonder if Carol Burnett had to send 'em a couple of bucks every time she did it on her variety show. :confused

:p

My favorite book series since junior high is the 'Incarnations of Imortality' series by Piers Anthony.

I'd love to see a multi-movie done like LOTR starting with 'On a Pale Horse' (my favorite) filmed at the same time with the same actors used in all the movies. And faithful to the books.

With all the 'Twlight' and 'TruBlood' fans a fantasy series like this should go over gangbusters.

Disney's THE BLACK HOLE. I am in love with the USS Cygnus, and am hoping they recreate the model in a real-world-prop way, no CG. I hope. lol

But I'm also hoping that the book and main character of ALTERED CARBON by Richard K Morgan finally gets made. That would be a killer series of movies.

They went downhill fast, but I think ON A PALE HORSE could make an awesome movie. And if they did for realsies that Michael Whelan cover of Death in a Corvette for the movie poster.... well, that's license to print money.
