Studio snowspeeder!

Hey guys, started this quite a while back, and threw my progress in the bin lol. I wanted much more in accuracy, its till not on the money, but im trying to take as many angles from the props as i can and come up with a happy medium. Im still the noob in terms of studio scale, but its slowly taking shape, very slowly, this may take me forever. Plan on fitting servos in the flap bays like the prop, and going for F/O in the cockpit. I cant sculpt for "£%&, but i need figures, thinkin of carving up some unleashed pilot figures as they seem to match the rough 1/8 of the speeder. The cockpit tub was hell, but eventually i found some great pics of the ILM prop depicting the pilots only go as far as the upper chest. Crits and opinions please....lee

The hull looks narrow at the back tips, that is due to the fact im going to cut the lower hull wider at the rear and add a panel to the top sheet for greater strength(like a step?). Lots more refing to do on whats here, but next up will be the main repulsor and harpoon gun shelf assemblies.

Hey Lee, for someone who can't " cant sculpt for "£%&" you make a hell of a scratchbuilder. Its looking good my man. I'd love to see what drawings you are working from because it looks bang on.

Looking fantastic. You've got a good start. All the angles and proportions look right on. Can't wait to see more.

Just curious, what gage of plastic sheet R U using?

Lee, it looks like it's coming together nicely. I've always wanted to do one myself, this will help me along. Great job so far, keep the pics and info coming. BTW where'd you get those MF poster sized pics? I'd love to get a set.

Not working from any drawings really, all taken from photo reference of rogue 3, styrene gauge is 1.5mm for the hull, canopy is 1mm. Once you get the rear bulkhead and cockpit tub fitted, the hull gets very strong. That said im going nuts measuring and doing guesswork on the measurements.

Some simple draft work will really take the headaches away. Once you've drawn something out you really don't have any guess work left.

Tell me bout it Coby lol, i have been drawing on the lower half as i know this will test me. Its also very tedious measuring then taking the angle, then transferring to styrene etc etc. Thanks for the words thought guys, as long as you think im gettin it, im happy. Lambo, the falcon pics are the inlays from my FMMF kit, i put them up at my bench while taking some ref from the pics of the 32" er. Gotta love FM packaging lol.
