I was watching the thread about this at tdh but there hadn't been any updates there for a while. so I thought I'd come over here to see and post my enthusiasm for this project. can't wait until it's ready to go and I can buy one to take over my living room.

I got the top part of the body cast, I'm working on the skirt now, it will be easier than the top body. I had to use gelcoat because of how the mold has near vertical walls. But I'm happy with the result, I was able to get it one piece and still get all the detail.

I'll primer it in a few days when it's fully cured. That's why I don't like posting pics of the fiberglass casting before it's primered, since it's clear it's hard to make out details. I'm going to cast the rest of them in black by adding black die to the fiberglass, but this one was more of an experiment with the gelcoat so I didn't bother to do that.
