Here's one of the skirt castings made with high end epoxy, rather than that polyester stuff I used on the last one. This hasn't been trimmed yet by the way.

PM Sent! Looks great and hope that I can afford one.
How much time do we have to save up?

Re: Studio Scale Slave I (first pics of body casting page 29)

Did I miss the pricing info? :confused

Did not see it posted, but maybe I just missed it.

Re: Studio Scale Slave I (first pics of body casting page 29)

I don't think the price for the body has been mentioned?I P.Med him to inquire.I think he wants to get the rest of the parts cast/made?

Well theres still much to be done, wingwells, underskirt, cockpit etc etc, so im sure Rich will notify in time, he's a very busy man, and this is one project that has took a length of time and caused some headaches for him, but he's working very hard indeed, thanks for the updates Rich!

Thanks, Lee. This one has been an interesting journey to say the least, but it won't be long now, thankfully LOL.

I like how you've embedded your business card. :)

I'm certainly greatful you have tackled this much sought after project. Its well worth the wait and most definatey your time and craftsmanship is worth every penny.I hope I can afford one when it becomes available?I'm considering selling one of my kidneys for this one.

What would you guys think of a main body split down the middle like the Fine Molds kit? Because I can tell you, the hardest part of this thing is casting the body in one piece, if it could be cast in two pieces I could really crank these out faster.

There's really no detail the seam would go through, you'd have to do a little rescribing where you sanded the seam, but that's about it.

Just a thought.

Between the quality of your casting and the beat-up/weathered nature of the paint job that belongs on this I think the split would be fine. Of course I am not a master builder or anything, but still, it would not bother me if it makes it easier on you (easier to ship as well I would think.):)

Would it not then need an internal structure to stop the two halves collapsing? Due to the curvature of the halves how would you suggest supporting the two halves while gluing?

would it be possible to split it on a seam? The only comlaint I had about the FM's kit was that damn nose seam.(had a excellent seam done then dropped the damn thing and had to redo it)

I think it would be fine to spilt it right down the middle.Don't try splitting it along a seam,I'd rather you bisect the scribed panel lines.Because then all one needs to do is "clean it out" and shouldn't have to mess with "rescribing".Maybe it makes no difference, but that's just me.Who knows,I could be wrong?
