It houses the pin that the barrel swivels onto. I'm gonna have to watch again, it just looks oddly shaped to me. Here's a pic of mine, not at a good angle though.

I just noticed what looks like rivets on the back of this troopers calves.It looks like he might have them on his thigh too.I've never noticed them on any other troopers so far,though we might see some better images now these HD pics are turning up 
I had a pic showing a keeper/retainting clip at the bottom on the ankle that looked like the same thing on the biceps for the bicep strap,but can't find it :unsure

That is from a HD pic I think RoCKo.It is in reply 10 to THIS THREAD about Leia's ANH boots.
I think it might be a shim riveted on but can't really tell.

The trooper on the left doesn't look like he's wearing a neck seal.

The neck seals look to be made from vinyl and are more like a bib/sash being longer than what most replicas are made like.
I see that Mr.No stripes has the 6th tooth clearly on his helmet and I don't care what anyone say's that is part of the design.
Just look at how the kidney plate flex's where it connect's to the back plate,very flexible
Is it just me or does that back plate look to be kind of 'mottled'? It could be just the pic but I have thought for a long time now that the original armour is a either matt or satin finish and laquered.The sheen on the suit's is very inconsistant through out ANH.

Hey Rocko, do you have the trilogy in HD? I'm sure I speak for all trooper fans when I say I'd love to see as many trooper captures as possible, including ESB

WOAW... would love to see if it was possible to identify that trooper lid that was shown on RPB some time back, which was rumored to be "Mr. No Stripes" or close... HD scans could possibly make that easier to do.

Rocko... those screencaps are FANTASTIC. They almost look like photographs.
I've bought a flatscreen TV for Star Wars in HD here in the UK on 1st January, but unfortunately left it too late to upgrade my satellite service to HD
Anyone else in the UK planning on some Star Wars HD-goodness on 1st January?

Thanks for sharing those pics Rocko Is it me, or does the head shot of Mr No Stipes show that he has round head screws on his ears as opposed to the commonly used tapered / counter sinking screws?
It's probably just me, but the shadows they cast really stood out.
