Just noticed that Han is wearing two different style hand plates in this scene.I've noticed before that Luke's hand plates are always changing from the regular 'T' back's to the alternate style hand plates.

I had noticed those as well, it looks as if there are two different rubber back versions.

It's just oriented on the hand back wards., the front part of the hand plate is near the armor, you can see the angle of hte front of the hand plate.

Hi Lynn,

Check out this pic below. You can see the two different types in the top two troopers and the different style in the bottom. They are different to the regular 'T' back's no matter which way around you turn them :)

I have just made a set of these BTW.

paul, as in rockos pic, it appears that there is at least one line (almost parrallel) next to the center stripe.

???

either way i like the originals better, seems that was the look they were going for in a hero kind of manner, and the others look kinda makeshift... but still a really cool project, and interesting tidbit.

I agree :) I'm starting to like the new style more and more, and noticing that almost half the troopers in ANH have these other style hand plates. They are a little bit different from other troopers without standing out from the crowd.

The space trooper backpacks look like two vertical cylinders on top with a horizontal cylinder running underneath - and a handbag strap holding it on. :)

Who wants to order this in a large and get a gander at that armor on the floor?

Are their pictures worth the money? I seem to remember someone not being impressed with the quality of the photos.

I own the 8x10" and it's useless for picking out any details. I got the 8x10 because of my disappointment of buying the larger ones. The larger sizes don't give you any extra detail, they just blow up an already poor image. I've seen better HD grabs.

Just stole this from spastromech. ;) What is that black tape on the shoulder of the TD on the far left??

I'm beginning to wonder how much gaffer tape you can get away with in film before people realise there's gaffer tape in view :D

Speaking from a military point of view; it is very common for gear, weapons, and uniforms to have variations. For example, a defense contracts for a flack jacket may be divided between several manufacturers; each model may be different in some way. So in reality, when you see slight differences in costumes which many would assume should be identical, in fact should have some variation.

I can also tell you that in the field, you will do what ever you have to in order to keep the junk you have in working order. That include duck tape, glue and the good ole thread and needle. If you can't fix your own trash, you steel it from another unit. Sad but true :unsure
