Stormtrooper Helmets

I'm thinking about getting a Stormtrooper helmet to display in my cabinet and want to know which one is the overall best as well as the next best as far as price goes.

I've been to the Star Wars Helmet website but it doesn't say which is the better one. All help welcomed.

It really depends what you're looking for. Assuming it's ANH you're after from what I've seen and heard the Gino V3 is a brilliant lid in terms of screen accuracy but it is very much high end with price and is missing the tear details. That said, missing tear detail means it doesn't suffer from an inaccurate tear detail like some other helmets out there. There are also 2 other ANH style helmets in development from Si-Man and CFO. If it is ROTJ you're after go to CFO.

If you want something more idealised and cleaned up along ANH lines I'd go for an AP lid. They occasionally offer seconds too making them an exceptionally good option with regard to both 'legitimate' lineage and price.

'Best' and 'best as far as price goes' are quite different, Gino produces the best helmets in terms of accuracy and so if its what you want then you'll pay what they are priced at, however if you want a cheaper accurate helmet then AP is probably the way to go. I hope that made some sense??

Are we talking best as in accurate or price? You could always pick up one of the commercially available ones like mr or efx if your just after a display piece.

I have several APs and A Gino V2, I love both but I do Think the Gino is better but also about twice the cost. Here they are AP on the Left and Gino V2 on the Right:

Ok. My next questions is.....
which is the most accurate helmet?

I'm thinking about getting the eFX ESB helmet but how accurate is it? The Star Wars Helmets website states it is the budget MR helmet (not that I know what that is like either).

I'm not planning on using it for costuming (or playing dress up as kids put it) at least not at the moment anyway.

Any help or opinions would be appreciated.

Who are you displaying it for? Yourself or others who'd think a Don Post would look good? If you can't tell which is more accurate (not a slam or anything)..... just get something you think looks good- and can afford.

Easy enough, no? It's just for display, and unless you are having the folks on this board over who you want to impress with uber accuracy, no one will care or know the differences. It'll be on display and look great regardless.

but it's all what you feel comfortable in spending for a display peice.

I personally prefer the wonkiness of the AP helmets to the Gino. Yeah, the Gino is technically more accurate...but i kind of dig the 'not quite right' look of the AP helmets that give it an ANH stunt sort of feel.
