stormtrooper armor?!?!?

hi, i currently have the FX armor and MR helmet and have been very pleased with it and loved wearing it but now im starting to look at in a different way......as in it doesnt look like a stormtrooper anymore :cryso after looking around i have noticed (cant believe i didnt before) the proper ones. im just wondering if anyone can help me?!?!?!? ive got my heart set on AP armor as ive read some good things about it but would like some advice on wether TE2 is the way forward? or any other armor. I live in the uk and could just go get a AA/SDS kit but not sure if thats a good thing.......£995!!! thanks for any time spent reading this.

I suggest you start here. In my opinion this is a very, if not the most, helpful thread I've seen anywhere regarding stormtrooper armour from a costuming viewpoint.

thanks for the heads up Garlic!! Basicly i want something that wont break and somat thats not too expensive but keeping a good movie likeness. ill have a good look around and move this over to the junkyard and bother some troopers over there ;-)

I've got some AP and love it. The olny thing to be mindful of is that it may not be suit you if you either a) have a big head (as the lid is one of the smallest around), or b) are ovr 6ft or of a stocky build. It's great for slimmer troopers though.

Re SDS, stay clear - apparently it's just not strong enough for trooping in and discolours quicker than some of the rest.

Thanks Bruce I've seen! The effort it took me to get my FX kit I thought it would be twice as hard to get anything else.

Well I'm 6ft bob on, pretty small head and about 170lbs so think the AP fits the bill. Thanks for the advice on SDS pretty much confirmed what I've read.
