Now that I think about it, when I lived in Central FL, there was a giant toy store called, Acme superstore, in Longwood, FL.
They have toys and comics.
They also had a whole Star Wars section with a giant Naboo fighter.....this doesn't happen to be the same one does it?
I miss going there after I moved 4 years ago.

Pic off google of the place, but not the greatest pic.

Yep reminds me of his store but not he has one just like that one hanging in his store if you ever find one grab it up they are getting rare as TazMan said or asked was it hard for me to start cutting on this as the rareity of it would be hard for him to do Yep it kind of was hard for me to start cutting on it but I had to get busy making this thing and I knew he has one hanging in his store still there. Thanks Friend for this pic makes me itch for the dilevery day coming hope Saturday may be Sunday we will see how things come along Thanks

The Acme stores claim, was that they have over 1 million items.
That was years and years ago, and ha e since bought more stores in the building....I think they might own the whole building now, so might be 2 million by now. They have had a bunch of professional artists come in and draw on the ceiling tiles throughout the store.
Good stuff.

Can't wait to see the fighter finished.and displayed.

Here's a couple more tips on vacuforming clear plastic:

1. Acrylic, Polycarbonate, ABS and even PETG plastics are hygroscopic, which means that they can absorb water from the air. Sounds crazy, but it's true! So if the plastics have been stored in a humid environment they may have tiny bits of water in them, which will turn to steam when heated - causing bubbles. You can dry out your plastics by baking them at a low temp for an hour or so. This can help minimize bubbles forming.

2. By any chance does the plastic you are using come with plastic film on it? If you leave the film on the side that touches the vac pattern, it can give you a smoother finish. The film helps smooth out any dust particles that may be on the pattern. Peel off the film after after vacuforming the part. Watch the temperature though - too much heat can make the film hard to remove. Of course this doesn't work if the protective coating is paper.

Hope that helps!

Okay Guys plastic in hand, but my friend is in New York this weekend I should have been a better comunicater but this will give me time to go over the ship and really make the detail stand out. So looks like I will be vacing some plastic in the morning after a hot cup of java then out to the shop and cut some plastic and with fingers crossed a canopy will happen this afternoon I gave the ship a good cleaning wiping down and dusting. ready for ground control major Tom. Thats a bowie song I think Thanks to All for the imput I have done low baked the plastic and look like a Go Stay Tuned with fingers crossed and we shall have a canopy or two Thanks to everyone for the comments and likes. he is going to be getty all week just thinking about it I know him heck he might even fly back but he is at a big model and toy show his team is doing. Got everything set up in the old kitchen wifey was flipping out but the heater I was using just wasn't doing the right heat so set up happened she went and got chilled. First pull was a joke then the second pull was ok but it had a krinkel in the center where my finger rubbed it, so I told wifey 3rd time is a charm they didn't send me the amount of plastic I thought I was getting I only had 3 chances and on chance 3 bam we now have a canopy and it is nice so I placed the plug in the canopy and used packing tape to tape it in tight then came the cutting which was a flip of a coin and it all worked then cam the mounting all systems go now whilest I await glue to dry I started another small project that will go along with this ship very well still have to see how this comes out but seems like its coming along so here we go ENJOY

So I willkeep going on this side project see how it turns out we shall see so some cool pics coming Stay Tuned lots more still to do Thanks

Well, it seems that the canopy saga is done and well done at that! For some vacu-form; I also use a heat gun to make sure the plastic doesn't cool off too fast...another trick for another project(y)(y) As for the pics; you have to repair your Steady-Cam kermet; they're a little on the shaky side.
I really would like to see that cockpit and the details of that pull:p;)
