Store Display naboo star fighter converison into Mando's new ship yep 1/6th scale big

Okay Guys here we go again, another day messing around in the shop I came out with a skinned thumb nuckle and a tool grab mark this one tool when it grabs you know it all this on the left holding hand. This tool has got me many times before. Oh well a bit of skin for today if I had it to do over again I will be right on it I don't have time to bleed. All this happened cutting the plug wonder how long it nwould take to 3d print this plug this only took me about 15 min I still got a small bit left to do on it but many other things happening as well, The color before the redish copper color on the enging the kinda greenish gray I redid this with a gun metal color and it looks much better also did some of this on the engine also looks cool. Thanks Guys for all the likes and comments very much needed today. Also might have to break this post down as well Here ya go Enjoy

Okay Guys looks like I just about have me a plug for vacuforming me a canopy. getting close now Analyzer very close but still a bit to do also the new sanding belt will grab your work and launch it across the room lucky it stayed together dont want to go back to the drawing board. A bit more detail here and there then I will be building me a vac table nothing fancy something to get the job done. Thanks Guys for following me on another one of my crazy quest Oh there will be more and this thing is not done yet so Stay Tuned more happening in the old shop hope it doesn't involve any skin being scraped or cut. That new belt will cut some wood Thanks Guys for All

#1. The amount of detail in that cockpit,….um, EVERYWHERE on that ship is amazing.

#2. Contact Sideshow Collectibles and show them. If they don’t donate a Mando and Grogu figure to you, they’re insane.

#3. That needs to be in an exhibit.

Okay Guys, another day in the shop, Thanks Guys for the likes and comments love the cool meter barney five all much needed. So I worked on some detail finished up the gages also some detail here and there on the engines. I also worked on the plug seems one side was a bit off also went over it and did away with any low areas. One of my grandsons loves the predator and I cast a mold of a hot toys wolf cleaner pred mask and he has been putting my crazy clay in it I grabed a pic of this as well cause its right there where the plug work is. Here is todays fun Enjoy

Okay Friends yep that mold was made cause I was casting a project and had about that much waste so instead of waste I made this mold to stop the wasting my grandmother once said wastefull ways makes for woeful wants very truefully said. I need to make a trip to the lumber yard to get me some supplys to make me a vac table. Here in the next day or so I will put it on the stand a let it fly. I am glad I did the latches instead of magnets works great removable panels cool ideal the magnets would have worked but I couldn't find any rare earth magnets around here and I didn't want to order any. So back to the shop in the morning and do some more detail bout there Stay Tuned getting real close but more fun happening Thanks

Okay Guys, I was wondering what type of 3d printer would anybody recommend a resin also a spool type. I have been looking and am dumb about this it will for sure be a learning curve for me also what about a 3d scanner. I know I will have to hook these up to computers bout to jump into the printing world Thanks Guys for the likes and comments much needed well back to the shop I will be back later with something to share Thanks

Okay Guys, I have made it back. Thanks again for the likes and comments. So I touched that one scope up also there was a pipe on the back of the engine I forgot about also painted these a gun metal color. Then went flying I also worked on the plug a bit got to thinking that this is the exact size of the canopy and the edges needed to be trimed a bit for fit. So here is a bit of fun happening Enjoy

Nice soft landing back on the table. It flys very good seems like some double pics but they arn't. I have done so much detail all over I sometime forget what I have done and not. So now I will go in the morning or some time tomorrow and get me wood to build me vac table which I will share as well almost done very close. I also have to pick up some of those folder clips to hold the plastic sheet to the vac frame still a bit to do but almost there Stay Tuned a bit more to happen yet Thanks

The best part about it is....THE SIZE OF THAT THING...!!...Great work so far.... ;)
Thanks a bunch yep it is a bit over 6 ft or rite at 6 ft haven't measured it sence I put the tail on it so it is there or just a hair over the 6 ft mark, Thanks for the kind words

Okay Guys haven't done much in the shop today I am planning a expansion of my shop going to have a clean side. On this side is where I will do a bit more cleaner modeling as well as setting up a couple 3d printers. All paint work will remain on this side where I built the Mando ship at as far as 3d printers I am at a loss on what I will be getting I want a resin printer and a spool type which I have no clue about. This expansion will have a barn type roof where I will have a bunch of my collecting the room I have now is bout full. Thanks Guys for all the likes and comments much needed. I will be starting the vac table soon which I will share as well. Stay Tuned a bit more happening bout got it all done. Thanks

Okay Guys, Out to the shop in the morning start on this vac table well its not really going to be a table its just a vac box, my friend next door is going to let me use is big shop vac which pulls very strong vacume I used it once before and sucked a bunch of my big drill bits off the table. Had a couple days break from this project been hitting it pretty hard much needed now time to getter finished. More bout to happen very close now to being done and delivery time bout to do some collective shopping. Thanks

Okay Guys, Thanks very much for all the likes and comments very much needed after today drilling about a thousand holes might be more got my carple bone fired up, but almost have a vac box. I just have to do a bit more finish work on it check the holes and might have to run the drill bit through to clear the holes bit more sanding then vac time, looks like I will be delivering this next weekend. I will do up a bunch of finish pics flying and not flying. So here is progress of the vac box being made. Enjoy

Drilling all these holes belive it or not took me just about all day well other than cutting all the wood for making it. I will share pics of all this happening.Yep carple bone is aching it makes me fingers tingle. I will seal this box very air tight I will sit the plug on to show size. I don't really need a vac box or table any bigger might later but this will work for now. Very Very Close now but still a bit more to do to getter all done Still more happening so Stay Tuned Also joberg this will be the last project I will use any wood on for sure see what you was saying about how paint and primer raises the gran also once that happens its almost impossible to get it smooth from now on its plastic Thanks for that advice taken to heart Thanks for your expertice wish I had other meteral when I started but I used what I had and it showed but it turned out alright. as said more happening Thanks a bunch to ALL

That's dedication!
Thanks Friend as far as the size its 6ft 2 inches long 4 ft wide. Yep that was a bunch of holes and when I got done drilling seems like I had enough wood in a pile of dust that could have made a whole other board same with cutting that plug had a big pille of dust and scraps I used a draw knife it cut it to shape Thanks for the kind words much needed

Kermet, I'm not against using wood to make pieces/parts for model making; it's just that it's more work sanding, painting, sanding again until you obtain a smooth, no barbs kinda surface. With plastic, there's way less elbow grease involved.;)

You are right on it does take a bunch more effort, I should have done more sanding than I did. also should have used some sanding sealer would have made a big differance. I am in the market for a couple 3d printers I am a complete noob to that area of modeling Thanks a bunch Friend for your help and expertise Thanks for your kind words and following this crazy build

Sure is a lot of holes
yep I need a vac former about this size I want it to work properly might be to many holes we shall see here soon hope not should work just fine I watched some tube vids on the subject Thanks Analyzer for your kind words and very close now

Okay Guys, another day in the shop Thanks Friends for the likes and comments very much needed so I went back and kind of reemed all the holes not to make them bigger but to clear them. This was a bit quicker than drilling them. After the redrilling I then did more sanding then I assembled everything, I sealed it all up then ran out of silicone I probley didn't spell that right but I try. After all together I run some hot glue all around just to seal it even more. I now am in the process of getting the frame made I also need to grab me some folder clips and some weather strip to get a good seal once I press the frame down on the box with the clips holding the plastic it breaks the seal. I am planning on delivery on Saturday just have to see tomorrow is only Monday so I should be good with whats left to do. Here is some of todays fun lots of rain today but I got a bit done Enjoy

Okay Guys, I know the last pic is a repeat but I couldn't help it. So here is a question I have and need some advice on as Analyzer said sure is alot of holes, and it is so the question is the plastic I have is the size of the box all around from side to side front to back now what if I cut the plastic in half and only used half the box for forming and covered the other half with some one sided sticky paper they use in custom painting I would have to run a strip of weather strip down the middle for seal but the sides and ends will be sealed and this would stop me from using a whole sheet of plastic and would give me extra just in case. I would have to make my frame only half the box size it should work rite. I thought of this and it would work the vac part of the process should still work fine even with more power and save some plastic. just wondering I still have some stuff to gather to finish this up but it is almost ready Also could use the center of the box and cover the sides but I would have to do two strips of weather strip on each side of the sticky paper stuff I will still have the strip all the way around the box well just let me know what you think before I get busy on this as said lots more got to happen Stay Tuned Thanks All
