Yeah Matt, its took a while but things are happening now, it all seems to work pretty well too, ive made a couple of mods, as has Allan, but we all want to tweak to our own liking from here.
Ive got the final build done now after a really intense clean process and a good scuffing with a scouring pad to give the alloy some bite for adhesives and paint! I had her standing on one leg for some time too, and it all seems rock solid, so poses ahoy LOL.
Still got some money to spend on donors :sick, but its all coming in steadily, ill hopefully get to cut the 312T parts tommorow for the chassis, and maybe look at the nasty job of cutting out the feet to fit the ankle joints!
Soon as were ready, and get the time to compile some kind of map, we'll try get some donor lists up, but im sure most will ID this one from the build threads as we go!

Feet are now cut, they worked out perfect in the end, just wat to find a nice neat and strong method of attaching them now.
Had to do this as he looked rather odd standing there with no feet lol!

Some of the eagle eyed may spot the mod ive made to the armature, though im not saying what, see if you guys can spot it :lol

Feet are from the AMT Vader TIE hull on the TESB, you need two. The ROTJ oddly never used this kit, instead the feet were scratchbuilt, as was the majority of the model.
Its a theory we have that the TESB, was gutted of its donor parts, to use as ref for the ROTJ props.

I think you're right Lee, even the concept artists seemed to have access to certain kit parts before the models were built. As for the ROTJ, the feet are mostly scratch built. But I'm nearly 100% that they do utilize the circular portion on the top of the vader tie hull, the little inverted "y" can be seen in certain ref shots.
Shaping up nice! Did you scratch some walls inside the tie hull so the armature has something to bite onto?

Not as yet Matt, i just got them cut, but yes i do want to fabricate a good mounting design thats strong, inner walls sound the best option!

Isel, just trim off the cylinder really and sand it all round, the left follows the shape of the right hence they trimmed of all the bobbins there...why i dont know lol.
Were missing a few parts in this area, mainly the main gun base, but im sure itll be found, its just a very muddled area.
Talking of muddled areas, the left gun, Allan found all of that by himself, i think he has superpowers TBH :lol

Definitely superpowers!! That thing is a maze! The only parts I think I got right were the flak 38 and morser/leo. Everything else I put together was scratched. Awesome seeing it done correctly.
I just scratched the center of the main gun using copper hex tube and tubing, but you are right. I think it is a kit part.

Love the mount.. I think that's one of the more interesting sections on the flak88. I have no clue why they didn't greeblie up the ROTJ as much as the ESB.. you're right Lee, the ESB has a bit more interest due to all of the busy stuff going on, especially at the scale considered.

You're crazy Matt ! The whole Flak88 kit is a gem !
I dont understand why they didnt use more parts of this kits on their model ! I could find a use for each of the parts ! This kit is just the best IMHO for kitbash !
