Steel Stormbreaker - Infinity War

This is my attempt at making a full scale steel Stormbreaker! Ive made metal Mjolnirs in the past, but this is a whole new level. Most of my dimensions are based off of a 3D model i found on Do3D.com as well as taking reference from the Hot Toys Thor figurine. This isnt so much a step by step post, but more a sampling of pictures ive taken along the way. Let me know what you think!

Thats heavy enough so, any idea how your doing the handle to match the movie one and be able to take that weight??

Im making the handle out of an osage orange (hedge apple) branch I collected on my property. Its a very hard wood that should hopefully stand the weight. The branch itself is fairly thick so any carving done to make it more "Grooty" shouldnt affect its overall integrity.

More progress on the project. Ran out of welding gas so in order to stay productive I started on the handle. Its a branch of osage orange and it is tough, hopefully tought enough.
Shaved it down with a draw knife and carved in the grooty detail with an angle grinder. No stain was used. All of the brown came from running a propane torch over the wood and buffing with steel wool.

Update on the progress, all of the trim pieces are on and the handle is set. Because my etching turned out alittle faint ill be painting the etched areas for better contrast. After that I'll be using Apoxy Sculpt for the vines that wrap around the head. The end is near!!

Here it is folks, all done. Enamel paint was used to exaggerate the etching. Apoxie sculpt was used for the vines and painted to match the natural wood. 35lbs of solid badassery. Real proud of how it turned out, let me know what you think.

Oh brother, it can smash. Hoping to get some good pumpkin smashing videos this fall. However, one runs the risk of throwing out a back or shoulder when swinging
