I hope to be the exception to the rule! And someone calling me out is actually that little bit of motivation that is needed to really put the pedal to the metal with this.

Just got back from holiday with the family, have two more days off- will be putting in a good few hours working on the helmet. I've got three roughed out ones that I've had to do some mods to to get to where I like them... so now it's time to build the final.

I will have pictures come Sunday afternoon, most likely. Just need to set up a photobucket or imagr account for this project

Bro, you are right to plan your suit and dream about it but in my little experience, the best thing is beginning it and face the problems, it will really make the difference. I lost months planning my foam MKIII but when i begun the suit i found a challenge bigger than i expected because i was a total noob in this stuff. You got really nice ideas and i will follow this. GL!

The key is to just start building. If you have never built one, extreme planning is a waste as your plans will go to pot as soon as things don't go the way you think they will.

I have built a bunch of stuff like this, and my projects still rarely go to plan, but as issues come up you tackle them one at a time.

For every epic build on this board, there is probably 20 great "plans" that never finish.

The people that finish, struggle through a few helmets, then struggle with a few chest pieces, then move on, then scrap the whole thing when they aren't happy with their previous work because their skill level has increased. This cycle repeats till awesome is reached.

Too much credit is given to plans and not enough to WIP.

I have a folder full of subscribed threads full of great ideas made by people that can't see them through.
