distance from rear edge of magazine to front edge of magazine: 3 inches

distance from front edge of magazine to rear edge of pistol grip: 4 inches

distance from rear edge of pistol grip to rear edge of lower foregrip (the same place that the body of the rifle is divided into two): 5 1/2 inches

distance from rear edge of lower foregrip to front edge of lower foregrip: 9 inches

distance from front edge of lower foregrip to rear edge of ribbed pump handle: 3 1/4 inches

distance from rear of pump handle to front edge: 6 inches

distance from front edge of pump handle to front of tube (also the front edge of the rifle body): 1 1/2 inches

length of protruding barrel: 1 1/8 inch

height of buttplate top to bottom: 5 5/8 inches

Hope that helps. :)

Small Update:

These arrived in the mail to day, Pretty excited
Replica Bug Bomb casts and Insignia Patches.

Just waiting on The BDU Shirt and Pants. Will be awesome to put them on the shirt and try the armor on over the BDU set.

I also forgot to show some progress on the helmet. I'm doing the base in cardboard. This will be resined and filled/sanded.

I have a helmet liner and a chin strap for the helmet.
I'm using a cheap helmet liner and a lacrosse chin guard that I will modify.

So far so good.

Looking great as usual Stealth
Thank you sir.

Update:
Morita Carbine Progress.

Got the ammo mag done. Now it's looking like something.
This was a good trial run making a scratch built weapon for the first time.

I think I will do it over and start fresh and make it neater.
I also need to build it around a toy gun next time to keep a clean trigger grip and to have light and sound effects.

OK, now you've inspired me to make my own Mobile Infantry costume. I've actually wanted one for a while to do fan films with, but now you've motivated me to get off my ass and actually do it. ;)

So I got the armor done. I did mine the same way you did yours--foamie pieces cut to shape and glued onto a vest made of foamie, with some added web belting and buckles and a couple ammo pouches at the sides, and I also added an airsoft pistol holster to the right leg. I did my helmet by glueing various foamie pieces to a plastic toy US Army helmet. Not entirely accurate,. but looks good on camera. Grey shirt and pants completes it (I don't have the MI logo patches yet so will add those later.)

I'm stumped on the leg armor, though. Screencaps show it to be some sort of greave-type thingie at the front of the leg with straps around the back, but none of the pics I've found are clear enough to show it well. So for now I'm just using a pair of black knee-high boots.

Anyone out there have a decent photo of the leg armor? I plan on duplicating them in foamie if I get a clear idea what they look like.

There is no leg armor, jsut the pants and boots made from out of circulation Adidas Hiking boots.

Goole Mobile INfantry uniform, armor, etc pics out the ying tang, or go an join Whiskey Outpost Whiskey Outpost :: Index for TONS of reference material.

Ah, I get it-----I was seeing those straps and assumed they were holding some sort of armor on.

Many thanks. :)

I guess I need to get some boots that are at least semi-accurate. ;)

(The good part about using my costumes just for fan films is that they don't need to be as detailed as displays are--the rule of thumb is that if it looks good from ten feet away, it will look good on film. :) )

You and your friend look awesome in those Costumes Rick. :)

Hope mine does it some justice even though it won't be screen accurate.

I also forgot to show some progress on the helmet. I'm doing the base in cardboard. This will be resined and filled/sanded.

Is this from a pep file? Or from a template somewhere?

I'm looking for a way to make a cheap MI helmet.

yeah, there is a pep file of the MI helmet floating around.
Starship Troopers Helmet.pdo

It was a half-life 2 game rip. Not really happy with it.

I've commissioned a modeller to model me a more accurate one. I've paid for the work . Unfortunately, I won't be able to share the specific new model I'm referring to though unless they would like to buy the .pdo from me to compensate for the money spent on the commission.
