Stargate SG1 Horus Guard

Ever since I first saw the Horus and Anubis Guards in the original Stargate movie I was hooked.... huge fan of these.



I have always wanted a "head" to display and to my delight JFcustom released some files of the "head".

So with files downloaded and printed, turned into templates and marked out on foam, I set to building myself a cool display.

Went with Horus..


Detail work with a sharp blade...


A little heat gun treatment and PRESTO ! .... Nice clean line work...


Some 2mm foam strips were added later for raised detail.

Detail work.



I wasn't happy with the green foam detail, it looked far too flat. Thicker foam was used and I think it looks far better.

Line work cut in and hit with the heat gun.

@ Ikras display wise I was just going to make a simple base and pipe stand but this build has taken a turn

So ..... I found out that the actors who played Maj. Carter and Col. O'Neill (Amanda Tapping & Richard Dean Anderson) will be appearing at a Convention being help in my part of the world later in the year.

My display is now going to be a costume !

Started work on the gauntlets.

The neck/shoulder armour was next on the list.

I had to employ the help of my wife's dressmakers form to help hold it in shape.

This is looking great. The detail work must take ages cutting it all in. How did you get the detail on the top of the head/neck on the back (in the pictures I've copied)? Did you carve into the foam to get the shapes?

It's great to see it evolving into the full suit. Going to an event in a couple of month and Teal'c (Christopher Judge) will be there. Would have loved to go in something like this to it but there's never enough time.

I can continue to watch this build for now though. Really looking forward to seeing it progress.

Boots.........

I just used a pair of old motorbike boots I had. Lol...even had old, dry mud on them...perfect weathering

A bit of paint and bam ! Battle worn boots.

The raised detail are individual foam pieces cut and carved with a dremel sanding bit and then glued to the main piece.

Detail is looking great on the shoulders. Must take a while to cut all that in.

Details don't take that long to do..... I use a sharp blade to slice in a line, 2-3mm in depth and then run a heat gun over the slices. The heat "shrinks" the foam and gives you nice, clean lines.
