I stated "mislead", not "lied to". There's a difference. I could have also used the word "implied" but I feel "mislead" fits better. It's all about how they worded their statements after introducing BB-8 at Celebration Anaheim as well as what wasn't said. They didn't lie but they sure didn't mind all of us thinking that the one on stage was what they used in the movie and made statements that made it seem like it was (seem being the key word)... and they did not bother to correct that wrongful assumption.

I believe the correct grammatical term for this sort of misleading shenanigans is, "a lie of omission" and yes that is still an old fashioned lie.

I was told right at Celebration Anaheim that the droid on stage was specifically built for the event. It wasn'tlike a well kept secret (at least not to the R2 builders bunch).

Initial reports of it being ~12 inches wide appear to be greatly exaggerated... unfortunately.

Based on the footage we've seen, and the stage version that was built, I'd highly doubt it. Besides, that's a feature of all the Sphero balls so that you know which direction it is facing, and which mode it's in.

Not my sphero? .. Your right though we saw him on stage. I was referring to the part in the toy commercial where he buts the wall and under the dome flashes red. My sphero doesn't flash any colors and stays lite 1 chosen color. I hit a wall or bounce down stairs and I don't flash colors?

Do you have an original Sphero or 2.0? The 2.0 definitely will flash and make a sound when it bumps things. There may also be a setting in your control app that disables that feature but I can't remember..
