Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Pre-release)

I always thought the inclusion of Vader’s castle on Mustafar in Rogue One was a foreshadowing of where Snoke and Kylo’s secret base of operations would be. I was so surprised to see it wasn’t used at all (yet).

Logically it made the most sense to at very least be a place that Kylo and the Knights of Ren would be, if not on any Star ship of the First Order.

It's always a possibility.

Have you heard the story about the X-Wing? If remember it goes like this. One of the concept art guys is working on a the new design. And I think it was JJ suggested making the engine cylindrical and having them split. So this artist does it. And thinks to himself that he's seen that look somewheres else. Well one day they are going through the Lucasfilm archive and here's Ralph's painting of Joe Johnston's x-wing. And then remembers where he'd seen that design. So it was a happy accident.........but I better double check The Art of book when I get home.

I can't seem to find that story in the Art of Book, but honestly I don't think that Ralph & Joe Johnston's designs were in the back of peoples minds, they were in front, dead centre & in their brief, it was a conscious decision to go back to those early designs

EDIT: I found a reference on Wired.....

"But the similarities between the new X-wings and those 1970s Johnston/McQuarrie ideas are seemingly coincidental as explained by The Force Awakens production designer Darren Gilford in this WIRED magazine article:

“When we were updating the X-wing we put two engines on either side and split them in the middle,” says Gilford. “Then something in the back of my mind said, ‘I’ve seen that before.’ Sure enough, I went back to one of Ralph’s classic paintings, and he had done a version like that. I pulled that image out in the next meeting with J.J., and he said, ‘That’s it. If Ralph had that idea, it’s good enough for us.”

Daft,....EVERYONE has seen those designs.....It was a conscious decision

Tbh it took me as a fan long time to notice the difference between RMcQ and thw final design. Because I had been seeing it for the last 40 years. Forwst and trees.
The PD and AD work on a movie. Loads and loads and loads of work and designs. I too think that it was a conaciiua decision but cannot rule out that it may have been a sunconscious influence at first.

With the amount of updates this guy has on his YouTube channel you'd think he was working on the production. I don't take much stock in his "leaks".

This kid has to cover ever rumor out there, even if his next video contradicts his previous.. that way if something did become true and he claim “you got it here first”

The funny thing is, all this guy is doing is taking the info from makingstarwars.net, the theforce.net and the millennium falcon site, and making videos about them..

The only reason his YouTube subscriber numbers jumped up was because Rian Johnson made fun of him

Star Wars IX: It Could Be Worse

The Tagline for the movie will be:
“In every saga, there is a beginning, a horribly mishandled middle, and a desperately attempted recovery...”

...Please Come Back...Please Come Back...Please Come Back.”

Exactly. As tempted as I have been to post my thoughts on the series on my YouTube channel I've refrained if only to keep from becoming another video review channel that gets mixed in with the others. I'd rather focus on things I do enjoy from the series and other interests of mine. Not that I have a huge following or anything but I'd rather keep the channel focused on the positive or at least things that interest to me. I have other ideas on how to share my thoughts on Star Wars with my fellow fans, besides posting here on the forums or posting videos.

The only way I would even consider watching 9 at this point would be if one of my oldest friends who I recently reconnected with asked me to. While I wouldn't be interested in seeing the movie, I'd be interested in going with him because so much of our early friendship was based on Star Wars. It would be more about what our friendship used to be, rather than for the movie and just like the movie it will never be the same again.

George's problem is that his success went to his head when he got to the prequels. He succeeded because he spent a lot of time and research coming up with the concepts for the original movie. He consulted experts and, as you said, he surrounded himself with really smart people and, at least back then, he listened to them. Then, after time passed, his ego got the best of him and he made the prequels, which were crap. Now, Disney owns it and they only care about making money, they don't care about making good movies, which is why the sequel trilogy is crap. They are trying to do what's worked in the past without understanding why it worked in the first place. Star Wars was never just an action film, but it was a fun movie to watch. Most movies being made today aren't fun. They're terrible. Nu-Star Wars is no different.

There's some real logic problems going on here.

First you say that Disney only cares about making money. And that they don't care about making good movies. That's kind of an oxymoron. I mean if you put out bad films your not going to make money. If you make good films your going to make money. This isn't rocket science, Bad movie=little money, good movie=lots of money.

Star Wars isn't Fantastic 4 or Spider-Man where the studio spits out a so-so film every once in awhile so they can keep the filming rights.

Like most franchise movies these days, Disney plays it safe, only does things that have already worked in the past, doesn't push the envelope, doesn't take chances, they produce generic movie fare designed to appeal to an existing audience That doesn't mean their movies are good, it means that they are cookie-cutter crap.

Gotcha. I could sorta(but you got the rhyming stuff going on*) see saying that about TFA......but TLJ..............anywho back to ep 9:D

I wonder if we could get some info, like a title or teaser, or both on May 4th?

* if you haven't seen this before, at least watch the section starting at 7:31

What I find particularly hilarious is the fan theory that Kylo and Rey had some sort of “mystical nerd sex” in TLJ (the kind of sex in which it is possible to “get someone pregnant” by merely holding their hand, via a “force projection”—ew gross!!) which will produce some sort of mutant “Awesome Super Colossal Jedi” in the next film.

It is the Will Of The Force that there be Reylo Patch Kids.
