Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Pre-release)

Try this one, I've seen it a dozen times and I still laugh out loud.

Gotta give it up for the Woodoo hide that is used to polish Vader’s dome.

Hilarious stuff.

They are not always goofballs.

Their review of “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” is particularly spot-on. The farther away from “TOS Trek” the franchise gets, the better that film has become:

You're right, I have no idea who they are and their attempt at humor failed badly.
If I LOVE the 77 Camaro and don't care for what Chevy has done with it since then, how is it cathartic to destroy as many of the 77s as I can? That's not cathartic or funny, just picking at scabs to get more views. Seriously, 5 hours to review the PT!? Again its either just view grabbing or somebody needs to get a life.

I found the '77 Camaro analogy funny. When I got my '74 in '97, people laughed at it and told me I should junk it and get a real Camaro. (It seriously hurt me and left a chip on my shoulder.) Now, when I take it to run errands I have to allow for extra time to talk to all the people who will stop me so they can ask me questions and check it out. I'm not going to be the dick who doesn't, because I've been on the other side of that and it sucks. Time and perspective....

The RLM video is stupid, because it's such a waste of things that we will never have again. To further analogy, it's like the "cash for clunkers" that wiped out cars like mine. But, those are the guys that made "Space Cop" so it's not a surprise that they'd do something else stupid. No one needs to explain anything to me about RLM by the way, I'm well-versed in levity, satire, and sarcasm.

Star Wars 9 Takes Place One Year After Last Jedi it's not much, but still more than the 0 elapsed time between TFA and TLJ...

True. And see what happened there, again. The new movie still, even with JJ at the helm who should know better, relies on off screen background information to explain things to the audience.
"Show, don' tell!" is IMO THE most important rule in movie making. Even of it is little bots pf information.
Even if it is a hairdo that changes OVER TIME. And I dare say that Reys hairdo is not the most practical one for action adventures.

Aw jeez. I AM NITPICKING A STILL FROM AN UPCOMING MOVIE!
So it is true. "If you look too long into the RPF, the RPF will look back."

What monster have I become...

Like every time when Roger Ebert used to tear movies apart (because he seems to know what makes the perfect movie) I used to say I'd love to see him make a better one since he seems to be the big expert. I'd like to see Red letter Media do the same. They're really great at ripping something apart, so....

I just don't go for the "If you think a movie is lousy, let's see you make a better one" angle. I like a lot of movies a lot of people don't like, but it never seemed logical to me to say "Let's see you do a better one!" Why? Because people don't have to go out and make a big dinner if the one they had at a restaurant sucked. People don't need to go out and build a car if they didn't like the experience they had driving a certain make or model and people really don't need to go and make a better movie just because they pick apart and don't like a movie someone else enjoys. It's a terrible argument. It's a terrible argument in that it proves nothing. Let's say that they did go and make a movie to prove they could do better, for that particular reason, to prove they could make a better Star Wars. You might still end up hating what they made while others enjoyed it, but then someone says to you "Let's see you do better?" to discount your view of their film. I'm not saying you are wrong to disagree with them, I'm just saying that the whole "Let's see you do better" deal is silly in the big picture. Like what you like. Don't like what you don't like.

They've made several movies and have made fun of their own films on many occasions. Lol

I do agree that it's easier to be a critic than to be an artist. Rather than wallow in frustration, I'm going to focus that energy into creating my own stories.

Well RLM did make Time Cop and a few other shorts. Not exactly high art, but neither were the Russ Meyer films Ebert wrote.

They shouldn't have tried.

I did enjoy the Re:Watch or whatever of "Top Secret", but the irony of talking about the rules of parody, and what makes parody funny, wasn't lost on me.

Space Cop was pretty meh methinks, Feeding Frenzy was actually a fun little flick. Probably cuz it wasn't Mike, Jay or Rich in the lead roles.

They also made a psychological thriller that they literally told people not to watch.

I just watched the Recovered the other day. It's pretty neat on a technical level for what it is (low-budget direct to video film), but I felt it fell short in the script, most scary scenes were revealed to be hallucinations so there was no real threat which kinda deflated the movie.
