Hows this film doing? Considering this just opened I'm not seeing much (anything really) on news sites or social media.

Just got back from watching the film and I loved it. I was pleased that Finn's character had grown and become less of a comic and also satisfied how the ends were tied up. After seeing the ANH in 1978, I especially loved all the nostalgia nods. Well done JJ!

How can people be satisfied with this film? It leaves more questions than answers and it felt too 'Marvel' if there is such a thing.

It did nothing more that destroy all the OT stands for. The Palpatine bit was too far fetched and looked out of place.

I just watched Shadiversity's hour plus review of it and he described it as "Trash of the Highest Order. The Last Jedi killed the franchise, The Rise of Skywalker takes a dump on its grave."

Loved it. Was amazed by how well Carrie's footage was integrated into the film. It was as if she was actually on set filming for this movie. My only nitpick was i wish they had explained how Palpatine survived better. I got the impression his spirit transferred to a new body, but i wasnt sure.

This is certainly interesting...the critics and audience members remain radically different in their evaluation of these films.

Just got back from watching with the kids, I really liked it overall.

Definitely some overly-expositioned and convoluted storytelling, especially the fist half or so of the movie....

Some great payoffs and moments for sure.

LOTs of reconnecting of The Last Jedi. In fact, it illustrates what a total turd TLJ was.

I should say that as a youngling, this trilogy was my first cinema star wars experience. I was 16 when TFA released.

I watched TFA at the midnight release, and man was my heart pumping from excitement. I enjoyed it. 1/2 way into the film my blood pressure rose so much that my blood vessel that had been scraped by accident in a surgery literally the day before has exploded and I had to go to the hospital since I started coughing up blood. Man, that was funny.

Watching this movie. I didn't even smirk, laugh or show any emotions. (except I teared up a little when I saw Poe seeing the resistance nearly fail)

Seeing the text crawl, I knew something was wrong right off the bat.

So, I reckon TFA set my expectations, but ultimately episode 8 and 9 ruined it for me.

I'm actually laughing out loud from the way you wrote this. I have a plethora of health issues, and I know sometimes visiting schadenfreude upon ourselves is the only way to deal.

Disney should have used you for a tv spot to promote the movie.
