88% fresh audience score. Hmm....... I really hope that this movie is better than people are saying. I'm not saying it'll be amazing, but I hope it's at least fun to watch, entertaining, and leaves me feeling more satisfied than I fear I'll be.

This felt like a lot of the Expanded Universe ideas thrown together into one movie, with weird fantasy elements and fantastical type stuff. I liked it, but it was A LOT.

Anyone know why all the other star destroyers around the galaxy started blowing up when they got the others in the system??

Also, wasnt Matt Smith supposed to be in this?

So over all I liked it and defiantly felt like a Star wars movie, but there were some things that just seemed odd or out of place.
For one, I did like Rose in tlj, even if her role didnt matter so much. But I'm always a sucker for a love story, so it was kinda sad that they completely abandoned her love for Finn. But then they were hinting at Finn liking Rey, but didnt even finish that route.....only to have Rey end up kissing Ben? That really made no sense at all. Everyone in the theater was completely laughing at that part...some even booed at it. Yet it was suppose to be really dramatic. That was the most failed part for me.
Another part that I was expecting at the very end was have Luke and Leia as ghosts...but then have Anakin, Obi Wan, Yoda and even Qui-gon faintly appear behind them. Some people might be like, but she never knew them...but it would powerful in the sense that within these movies, they were the most powerful Jedi that we know became force ghosts...so it would be them all looking at Rey and basically saying, you are now it, The Last Jedi, we all will be watching over you. Missed opportunity I think.

Firstly, only went to see this coz its 44 Celcius here today and the house is a sweat box, couldnt wait to get home. Paid for some Bollywood movie called Dabangg 3 and just walked in to this, about 20 people in there.

What a laughable mess. This thing is either a tax write off or a $350 million tribute to the works of Ed Wood and the writers of Scooby Doo. I'm not even joking. Not going to bother with details other than the Star Wars universe is now a complete joke. Death is no longer a consequence and the Force has been reduced to a video game upgrade and if your name is Rey, you are given EVERYTHING.

Kennedy either despises George Lucas or actually believes in the ***** she pedals or both. To me, the entire legacy has been dumped on and a Palpatine is left standing when 42 years of dust settles. The only thing slightly interesting is that fans of TLJ completely get their expectations subverted. Cant wait to see how they feel about it now. Thank God its all over and if Iger doesnt fire everyone apart from technicians at LucasFilm involved in the movies then well, who cares anymore anyway. Not me.

Was the old lady on Tatooine who asks Rey what her name is, of any significance?
Depends if you ask JJ Abrams or Rian Johnson!

JJ: "She might be someone of importance, but let me figure it out a few movies later. I'll never actually give you an answer."
RJ: "She is no-one! There was no point in her ever existing and I'll make sure of it!"

The more I think on this movie, and read some reviews, the more I really do question things that happen in it. Over all I do like it and the characters, but the things they do and over all main theme just doesn't make a lot of sense.
There was completely zero evidence that Palpatine ever had any type of romantic relationship in the other films, so that made it so out of the blue.
Guess this just goes to show, that if you plan on doing a trilogy, it really helps to have a main story outline for ALL 3 of them.

Saw it twice today. Really enjoyed it. I haven't had the desire to watch any of the ST multiple times except this one. Definitely want to see it in the theatre a couple more times. Its not the greatest movie ever. Not even the greatest Star Wars movie. It did give me everything I felt I needed from this set of films, though. I'm glad I didn't read any of the leaks prior to seeing it. Would've ruined some really great moments of the film for me.

Well, it was entertaining as far as a movie spectacle goes. Storywise, I think it was as good as it was ever going to get considering how much of a mess the preceding two ST movies had made. JJ dug a hole with TFA but shallow enough that it could have been filled in. RJ took a goddamn tunnel borer and went for the core of the earth with TLJ. The Rise of Skywalker (misleading name, anyone?) was massively contrived in order to try to get out of that massive hole. It kinda did, but everyone who walks past the scars left in the ground knows what was there.

Disney really messed up big time by not outlining a coherent plot for all 3 movies from the beginning. People keep whining about "fan service this" and "subverting expectations that" and that's all missing the point. I think that the sequel trilogy had enough room to move, storywise, without having to do anything that referenced previous films for the sake of fanboy boners and without having to throw away everything the previous movies stood and then calling it "cleverly subversive". The whole ST represents a squandering of opportunities because Disney rushed it into production to start making its $4 billion back.

Oh after watching the Shadiversity video I CANNOT WAIT for the Red Letter Media review. There is so much schlock that Mike will probably love it for that alone. I am so excited to see their reaction! hahahahahaha

I thought the same thing... the whole movie was “f*ckit how much can we cram in here, shlock it up!!! Red eye everyone!!”

I could see Mike liking it like JuRASSic park.

Overall I liked it. It was fun. Story wise it was just too rushed. Almost like it could have used an episode 8’s worth of time...

This movie tried to cram in two movies in an rush to fix the last, still get in fan service, and wrap it all up... trying to give everyone what they wanted in 8.

wait... is this just that viral thing where the fans were all gonna pitch in to make the movie?

Oh! Yeah.... Luke straight up diggin at Rian for his saber toss... weirdly obvious dig
