Question, do they call the good guys Resistance or Rebels in TROS? I can't remember, I know TLJ made a point of calling themselves Rebellion again, was just wondering if JJ bothered following that up.

I don’t think that’s what George & Marquand had in mind when they made ROTJ Joek3rr,....Sir Alec doesn’t actually move the branches out of his way,....they catch on his costume & bounce/sway as he walks past them.....a by product of the filming
process....we don’t know how many takes it took to get that shot....I don’t think it was intentional
if he was really a ghost why didn’t he walk through the tree instead of around it etc

Sitting on the log is much the same thing as standing for a Force ghost,....why walk at ground level at all ....the scene required a similar setup as Ben’s hut...to continue that seated conversation about Luke’s Father....

If we analyse what we see in the film, that would mean that Gamorean guards have no bones in their fingers, because we can clearly see their fingers bend back when man handling Han & Luke when they were brought in font of Jabba.....almost as though their hands were huge rubber gloves and not real pig hands

Whenever Boushh brings Chewie into Jabba’s throne room a character raises his gun who looks like Boba Fett,...but couldn’t be Boba because his range finder is on the other side of his helmet,...it must be another Mando....

.....or it could be the art of making a film...sometimes the illusion drops & you can see the unintentional

It always hilarious when the glaring faults of the Disney trilogy are explained off by trying to use the Lucas movies as similar/ previous faults as every single time it fails and only highlights how inferior they are in every aspect. Jaitea summed it up perfectly and just to add, Ben sitting on the log is the perfect way to frame the emotion of the discussion, to use it as a display of abilities shows a distinct lack of context and sense of occasion, this has been addressed multiple times in the past but always ignored. Having Yoda snap Jake on the nose with his stick and then bringing down lightning undermined all the subtle context and sense of occasion and was then exploited even further to the point where we arrive at TRoS.

So many of us have been told in one form or another directly and indirectly by the shill/access media including Lucasfilm employee`s that this new Star Wars is not meant for us the older, less forgiving, toxic "ists". Be careful what you wish for Disney.........

Odds are none of what is happening now will be ever discussed in the mainstream media. Currently, John MyBoyega is dealing with these weirdos on Twitter superbly and they have already resorted to their go to`s of calling out misogyny and trying to have him blacklisted. Best of luck with your new fan base, back in the day we just used to play with the toys.

So what was up with Palpy's transmission from the scroll-down?

Did he set up Radio Sith or something, broadcasting intergalactic darkside tuuuunes & Jedi diss tracks?

What was he supposed to be saying, 'We're coming to get you Barbara!'? A bit of archvillain monologuing from a long, long time ago?
Or was it an intercepted transmission to Pryde to set up a Superbowl gathering?

Just for fun:

If Luke didn't leave the map, where did it come from? No one else knew where he was. If it was Lor San Tekka (Max Von Sydow's character), why didn't he just tell Poe where Luke was?

Since Alec Guiness brushed up against some vines, being a Force Ghost is super easy, barely an inconvenience? Then why didn't Force Ghost Luke show up and wield a lightsaber and chop Palp's head off?

Building a lightsaber, I'll grant you that one. Luke did it, why not Rey? She was better, in every other way, then Luke.

Anyway, Happy New Year everyone. Glad the RPF is finally back.

If you recall it's only a fragment of a much larger map. The rest was held by Empire. So even if Lor had seen the part which discovered, he would have just found what Han and company found out, they need the 3/4ths.

Obi-Wan tells Luke that "I can not interfere." Force ghosts seem to not be allowed to step in. Though it's weird in Legends, in Splinter of the Mind's Eye, Obi-Wan helps Luke in his fight with Vader. But Yoda beaning Luke on the head isn't lore breaking.

Also Rey has all those Jedi texts at her disposal.

Exploited in TROS? Happened in Splinter of the Mind's Eye first.

To me it looks like his arm is pushing them aside.

As you already know, I have zero knowledge of any of that ancillary rubbish you so desperately cling to. Its nothing but fan fiction to me. If it wasn't in the first 6 movies, it didn't happen.

I love The Mandalorian and only accept the healing stuff because it was very obvious to anyone who doesn't gulp down the Kool Aid that it was only included as a directive from Darth Kennedy to help soften its ridiculous inclusion in TRoS. I'm fairly confident it will be explained later in the series because the people behind it seem to have integrity.

I'm far more interested in what you think about the rest of what I posted as you are a self confessed Reylo.

Sure is! The planet is healing.
The planet is healing? Sounds more like a case of, “We already shot this scene, and then the script changed, and now we have to include more references to things that people recognize. How can we do that?” “Oh, just add it into the Visual Dictionary and say it’s the moon of Alderaan or Mustafar or something. They’ll eat that stuff up.”

Really just showing how you can't really depend on what critics say or the audience. Transformers gets a high audience score, but a low critic. TROS is similar. But TLJ is the other way around. So you really can't point to one score or another and say 'see that means it's a bad film!'

It depends on the definition of "bad". In terms of movie making or in terms of entertainment value? A really good movie is for both critics and audience.

I personally was surprised how well TLJ was received by critics despite its flaws in mocie making and story telling. They unanimously cheered Rian Johnsons guts for trying to radically change Star Wars and bring something new to the plate, but mostly without adressing craftsmanship flaws. Mind you, I dare to say that most critics are not really fans of lighter entertainment but prefer more intellectually challenging movies. The general aufience in comparison unfortunately does not. BLOCKBUSTERS are easily accessible for a large crowd! Did Woody Allen or Ingmar Bergmann ever make a blockbuster?

TROS does not please the critics because of all the fan sercice and seemingly simple solutions offered.

It's funny to me how Reylo is even a thing. In the first movie, she thinks he's a monster. In the second, she still thinks he's a monster during their first long distance call. Then she sees him with his shirt off and doesn't seem impressed. Then they touch hands. Then they fight together but afterward are back to being opponents again. At no point is there anything overtly romantic or even subtly romantic shown. You can say the hand touching but it seemed that was more because Rey was feeling lost and looking for any guidance from anyone. Like I said, prior to that she thought he was a monster. How do you go from "you're a monster" to "I want to hold your hand"? Now I haven't seen TROS but my question is why would anyone going into it think they would end up being a couple when so far, two movies in, there hasn't been any evidence to suggest it other then them being young and attractive. I don't doubt the plan was for them to fall in love but like so many other aspects of this trilogy, it doesn't feel earned at all. Yet somehow people expected it? Anakin and Padme is a more believable love story by comparison and that's saying something.

Meh, don't over think it I guess.

I know exactly why most of the critics loved that movie and what the universal tag line of radically changing and bringing something new to Star Wars actually means by most that like it and why those same critics turned on RoS for ultimately walking it back. Its not based on whether its a bad movie or not.

Very interesting reddit post that just came out. If true it exposes Disney/Lucasfilm and a certain executive as nothing but hypocrites, no shock here.
Of course its reddit but with the track record of this particular sub forum being pretty much 100% on point for a long time now, I have no reason to doubt it. It is without any doubt whatsoever that there are disgruntled Lucasfilm employee`s that are spilling the beans and have been spilling them for months.

Click on the post to go directly to the sub forum, some interesting opinions.

One thing that bugs me the most about the ST/RoS is isn’t everything the Jedi do meaningless now?

Anakin was the chosen one destined to destroy the sith according to prophecy. He did in VI by destroying Darth Sidious and himself, ending the Sith due to the rule of two, or so we thought.

Now, Sidious is back and has mentioned he has died before, meaning that he has died and been able to come back, which means Anakin didn’t destroy the Sith and the prophecy was false. Rey “kills” Palpatine again by reflecting back his lightning but it’s not like she did anything different from Anakin in killing him (no use of a new mysterious force power, no sealing enchantment, etc) which means there really is no reason why Palpatine or any other Sith can’t come back to life.

This does open the door to more sequels which may be Disney’s intention though.

What a steaming pant load of a story. Sounds as believable as the "leak" that said there was a George Lucas cut of the film.
