My eyes are closed in this thread as I am waiting to see the movie, so apologies if this has been posted, but Disney movie rewards has the theatrical one-sheet available for 1000 points if you're looking. Not sure how long it will last, but here's a link:

Good luck if looking to not pay so much on ebay!

Okay I'm out again. Thanks!
Man I've been looking for one of these for my lad for Christmas, it doesn't look like its available to UK rewards and looks as though mine expired anyway?

I´ll see it with my best buddy next to me who predicts that he´ll break out into tears when the movie starts, he may be in tears during the movie as well, and again at the end. We are part of a bunch of buddies that has watched the SW movies together on premiere day for the last 16 years, plus minus three or four people. So there´s a great tradition to continue.

BUT I will also take my girlfriend and her daugther with me, with the gf liking star wars a lot and her daugther just recently introduced to Star Wars but liking it a lot. A bit of a conflict there about seating etc. but hey, you know, bros before ... spouses ...

Expectations are running very high for the film. I think it if fails to break $2.5B it might be considered somewhat disappointing. International markets and China will be very important to that number. The World Premiere is on Monday, so if avoiding spoilers is important to you, that would be the time to get small online or avoid all together. Still amazed and have to give credit to the TFA team in keeping so much under wraps just one week left to go.

I'll be seeing this with my dad who was there for the original release of Star Wars, and my sister and brother-in-law who were both indoctrinated by the prequels. I guess I fall somewhere in between since I wasn't old enough to see the OT in the theaters, but grew up watching it on VHS... well before they were "specialized".

The biggest struggle for me is going to be sleeping the night before the release.

I was talking to a film making friend of mine the other day about which screen to see this on. He said that there is a big myth going on with IMAX. Apparently, very few of them are actually actually IMAX. Mostly they are actually digital projectors that are "Imax approved"

That's too bad. J.J. shot this on film and I would love the chance to see it that way

Yeah, IMAX has sort of liscensed out the name to a version of large screen format that can be called IMAX but really isn't.

It's not a myth, it's true.

IMAX vs. LIEMAX....

It's also worth noting the TFA only has one sequence in IMAX, so only one part of the movie will (arguably) benefit from IMAX viewing.

But the movie was shot on film. And seeing it through a film projector would probably be great.
Mind you , (as I just discovered) the phantome mencae was the last star wars shot on film and it actually looks better than the latter two so digital projector or not, this will look awesome

I also love pudding. And Wookiees.

Did anyone say wookiee pudding? :eek

That's why I said "arguably" - overall, the movie should benefit from some aspects of LIEMAX. But, many - if not most - LIEMAX are digital, 2K projectors - whereas, 'regular' digital movie theaters are now usually 4K.

A lot of the info on all this isn't real solid or is dated. When the Hobbit was released, a new 4K (LIEMAX) projector was used - in just a "couple" of theaters... now the IMAX site lists nine theaters with this capability.

Based on the info out there, most chain multiplex theaters aren't real IMAX. They are converted, digitally projected and at a lower resolution than most normal theaters.

I remember being blown away by Avatar when I saw it on a regular digital screen.

Then I saw it 2 days later on (what I thought was IMAX) and it looked horrible. This all makes sense now
