Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Seriously, thank goodness for Filoni and his team. Unfortunate it couldn't have been done in the first place with the core films

Agreed. I never got the appeal of Filoni or TCW, but it was at least better in some ways than the PT. It had moments of inspiration but also some pretty silly stuff too. After they resurrected Maul, it was pretty hard to take seriously though.

Regardless, the Clone Wars should've been the backdrop of the PT rather than being almost totally skipped and relegated to Cartoon Network.

Of course, I also think the Tantive IV should've been the "Millenium Falcon" of the PT.

The entire Mandalore / maul/ savage oppress arc is probably my favorite saga in star wars. It's pure space opera.

It was a brave thing to bring back maul but they did it and it was brilliant.

I'm saying that most people would call you an idiot for attempting to resurrect maul. But he did it in the only way possible

Now, I'll give you that. I had heard it was GL's idea, rather than Filoni's, so I suppose the latter just did the best he could with the directive he was given. I still think it was a bad idea though.

Kinda like he was portrayed in The Clone Wars series. ??

Perhaps - I won't watch the show. The more years I put between me and the prequel iterations of these characters, the easier it is to forget them and return to the images that the OT conjured in my head. I don't want the image of Hayden's Anakin reinforced, not through special edition ghosts or prequel viewings or even blocky cartoons. Nice to hear that they tried to make a shift with him though! Maybe someone at Lucasfilm recognized the misstep with his character.

It was GL's idea and I think Dave did a great job doing what Iwoulr have thought impossible.

I'm finally getting through CW, halfway through Season 4. I've always maintained that this series is what the prequels should have been. It's more Star Wars than Eps 1-3 ever were.

More power to him if he wanted to be in a star wars film that badly he was willing to play an anonymous stormtrooper.

I remember a decade or more ago when Samuel L Jackson said he would have done the same, but then went from someone who would have played a stormtrooper, to someone who's lightsaber had to different to everyone elses, and finally to "not die like a punk"

I really hope his helmet doesn't come off. It would be cool if as an easter egg he kind of did a Bond "turn and shoot" in the middle of a bunch of stormtroopers during a busy action scene. Something small and not focused on, but noticeable if you know where to look for it, sort of thing.
