Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

The Fett part? If so I agree. You're going to tick off a lot of fans if they really change any of the main stuff Lucas came up with. I'm all fine with never showing Jar Jar or mentioning Midichlorians, but not rewriting entire characters.

I think they are willing to take that chance. I don't think they are afraid of shaking things up, especially for an ancillary character. I'm ok with the Boba Fett we have but woukd be willing to see a new interpretation.

I'm not sure how I feel yet about the "Fett" rumors... However, I'm still not not on board with a stand alone Fett film. There are some characters that don't need back stories or to be explained (yes, there are books and the PT). In some cases, and this is just me blowing hot wind, I like the idea of BF remaining mysterious.

I LOVE the idea of a younger Han Solo stand alone film. Let's face it, Harrison Ford is getting up there. Kill off the character in whatever episode and then reintroduce him as a young Imperial Pilot (NO KIDS). Then you can have his encounters with BF...

Again... just my two cents. And with that said... Will I go see a stand alone BF Film? OF COURSE! ;)

I don't like the idea of a stand alone Boba Fett movie because I just don't find him to be that interesting of a character, he works best as a plot device and not a main character. Maybe if we were ever given a real glimpse into what he can really do maybe then a stand alone movie would work but with what we've been shown in Empire & Jedi there's nothing that's interesting enough about the character to warrant a movie.

I've never really been much for SW novels (other than novelizations of the movies), but retelling of the OT from other characters' point of view might be interesting.

I remember a comic book back in the late 90s early 00s that told the opening of ANH from the perspective of the stormtrooper who raided Taintive IV... More specifically, the one who got shot in the head by Princess Leia. I am not kidding.

I cannot stand what Lucas did to Boba Fett in the prequels and the Special Editions. I'm all for wiping the slate clean and getting rid of any Jango and clone connections. Boba Fett, to me, works best as he was originally presented in The Empire Strikes Back, a Clint Eastwood style gunslinger with a mysterious past. You don't need to know everything about a character to make them interesting.

First of all, the Jango and clones connections are here to stay. They may steer clear of bringing it up, but neither will they wipe it away. Secondly, we don't learn squat about Boba Fett in the OOT other than that he's a bounty hunter and he's after Han Solo. The gunslinger part has always been a fan creation.

Lol. So the serape and the spur sounds are a fan creation too? I know the Jango stuff isn't going anywhere but that doesn't mean we have to like it.

I think a Clint Eastwood / Man with No Name type of character "might" work if done correctly - a character who plays by his own rules. If Disney takes the character and puts him against the dregs of humanity while remaining an agent for the Empire - it might work.

I would actually much rather have a story about Jango similar to the Bounty Hunter game. He's way more interesting IMO than Boba.

I'm not sure if I will get into the new books or not. Maybe if they really lay out what's going on with the new EU. They are leaving it up in the air whether just the post ROTJ EU is scrapped or if it's everything. There's not much reason to scrap everything before that.

I don't have a problem with Boba Fett's Prequel origins, but I don't need to see how he got from being that little boy who was angrily mourning the loss of his father in Attack of the Clones to who he is in The Empire Strikes Back. Fett is an enigmatic character; it's best to leave him that way. Unfortunately, Disney won't do that because there's too much money to be made by telling his story. :rolleyes
