Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I say him ruining Star Trek counts as "giving him a chance." Of course, that's just me.

Shatner did that directing Star Trek 5 The Final Frontier... I mean, come on, I watched the syfy network Star Trek Marathon last week and even The Voyage Home was stupid... not at all like I remembered it when it came out. sorry, but Star Trek AIN'T all that... after Wrath of Khan Star Trek was all crap. just sayin'. :)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Keep in mind JJ is DIRECTING. the only films he's directed are:

Mission Impossible 3 - Crap
Star Trek - Slap in the face IMO
Super 8 - Crap
Star Trek Into Darkness - Yet to be released

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

First he ruins Star Trek, now he's going to ruin Star Wars? I'll pass. Hell, I'd take the prequels over a Abrams-directed Star Wars movie.

many would say George Lucas already ruined Star Wars with the prequels and the Special Editions... no where else to go with this but up I say. and if he doesn't do a good job then pop in the OT and be happy. :popcorn

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I don't really don't care how good or bad these new films will be!!
At least my sons will grow up knowing Star Wars movies.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

super 8 was ok.
Star Trek was awesome.
Mission Impossible 3 was great.

How was MI3 crap? That was well done and I think it's just being called crap because of Tom Cruise by default.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

JJ Abrams is a great choice.

He's strong with character, great with narrative, and very fun with action. If the script is good, then this movie will turn out fine if not quite good.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I'm pretty shocked to see so many JJ haters??? I never thought myself a minority in being a huge fan of his. I am an insane Str Wars fan, and I could not have had better news today.

I guess it just goes to show that no matter who directs the movie, what it's about, how the special effects are, someone will think its crap . . .

Well said. :thumbsup

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

LOST was awesome. And you guys don't know how lucky you are to get JJ Abrams. Could've been Bayyyyy.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

In all fairness, in this day and age there's significant online backlash against everything because a small group of d-bags have nothing better to do than sit in a dark basement and ***** about every movie and TV show they see. JJ's Star Trek reboot was pretty much universally praised by critics and outside of Whedon(and maybe Joe Johnston) I can't think of anyone else better equipped to take on this franchise.

Well said!

Nope. Abrams will find a way to make it worse, it'd make the prequels look like Academy Award winners.

Again, just my opinion.

When I saw MI3 I thought, "They finally got this right... Too bad it was right after Tom Cruise imploded and will end up being too late."

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Dude,
Unless you can see into the future, you don't have a good reason not to give him a chance.

Your just hating with out good reason..

Just my opinion.
