Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

I'm not going to get into my opinion because I don't feel like being torn apart for releasing "spoilers" (thanks for taking that task up, btw.), but I'm sure you can guess what I meant and my reasoning behind it.

I do but it's amazing how well this has been hidden.

And I'm always up for taking one for the team. :)

Nicely said, indeed! As much as I hate the notion of a scientific explanation for the Force, or rather how it's harnessed, I do think it's wise to not undo existing canon. Like it or not, certain aspects do exist and we just have to live with it. That said, his attitudes about the Force are pretty spot on, as far as I'm concerned.

And after further exploration of the Force in the Clone Wars, Midichlorians aren't the Force, they just augment it, and I think GL canon is good with that interpretation.

Midichlorians are the most over-blown thing in the SW universe since Boba Fett.

It's like throwing a hissy fit over IQ testing. Testing/measuring methods are not going to somehow take the magic out of human intelligence.

Who says a person's Midichlorian counts are permanently stable from birth? Maybe they can be developed & raised with effort or other means. I never looked at MC's as anything other than a measuring tool. (And the measurement it produces is probably just as imprecise & imperfect as IQ testing too.) Big deal.

I dismiss everything in the prequels and sleep well at night.

Midichlorians are the most unnecessary thing in the SW universe...

GL could've easily just had Qui-gon say Anakin was incredibly/unusually strong in the Force or something along those lines and that would've sufficed. Just as simple as that. Trying to quantify Force aptitude like an IQ test is really silly to me.

I just think of midichlorians as something that "forms" in the body of someone that has Force powers, like a side effect. Those without force powers would have no MC's, and those with the force powers do, IF tested for it. "Mr. Skywalker, you have an awfully high midichlorian count. Does it burn when you try to lift a ship without using your hands? Well, it looks like you've got a case of "The Force.""

I was just talking to my friend about that fulcon/falcon. Thing I remember debates back in the day about it and some magazines even had fulcan but when I googled it there was NO references at all to it as fulcon. Looks like the fulcon team finally gave up, me included. I wounder how han will pronounce it in this movie ? I figure he named it he should know!

Ah, yes. I remember being initially pretty pumped about it, just riding the high of seeing a new SW film. Then the days and weeks passed and it all started to unravel...lol. The more I thought about it, the less I liked it. "Well...that didn't really make sense..." "That was pretty dumb..." "That kid was pretty terrible..." etc.
