Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

It was burned in a funeral pyre, apparently for a good while.

Don't really like he melted look. I always assumed Vader's helmet was metal. Just burning in a fire wouldn't melt it like that, unless something else happened to it after the cremation scene?

After all the helmet was supposed to protect his head in battle from sabers and laser blasts. i would assume it would be made of a very tough metal that would not melt in a bonfire.
i think it would have looked better charred rather than melted.
But i am sure if the movie is good it won't be a deal breaker :)

Composite plastics and stuff like carbon fiber can be much stronger then steel even in our world and a lot lighter and far easier to mold into shapes.

Eh, metals melt. For all we know, maybe Luke "enhanced" and accelerated the flames a bit...

That's another image that I wished they held off showing. I think it would have blown minds in the theatre

To be honest its thinking about what we haven't really seen yet that's really blowing my mind!!! The effects work here is simply beyond what I've been hoping for, the sheer natural beauty and scale of them just leaves me open mouthed. Watched it on the big tv and its just magical. Shot after shot. I guessed we'd see some technical improvements but this is above and beyond. I'm actually considering doing the double, I've booked for the early 2D showing but I think I'll just have to see this again in 3D on the same day. The only other film I have done that with was "The Matrix".

exactly, and carbon fiber sets on fire very easy! look at the lamborghini issues.. a friend of mine lost his truck because he ran power wires to his stereo on carbon fiber panels.. just the heat from the load of the cables set it a blaze...

the metaled helmet doesn't bother me metal can warp very easy with heat, look at the world trade center, those beams are warped like pretzels...

Finally got to see 3po again....
Ive teared up alittle just from the trailer, can only imagine what the movies gonna do.

The narrator gives me a Galadriel feel at the end. [emoji14]

Is anyone else astonished by how well the secret was kept? I mean today we basically got A NEW Star Wars trailer, and there wasn't even the slightest mention of it before it came out. Before the last ones there were whispers all around galaxy :D

What spoilers? I haven't seen any spoilers here so far. Are you referring to the melted Vader helmet? If so, that's not a spoiler since it's in the trailer and we have long since known that Vader's body was burned in a bonfire at the end of Jedi.

If I was avoiding watching the trailers of fears seeing something that would spoil the experience,....I'd choose not to press play

.....but posting stills off the trailer takes that decision away from me....TIE's in the sunset for example

Hopefully someone will put together an updated "supertrailer" that incorporates this excellent new footage. :cool

I'd hardly call watching a trailer a spoiler, or even seeing stills, esp. not seeing stills.

even with this new trailer i don't think anything is really spoiled? we are still left guessing allot

Then its time to leave the thread and go dark. Its inevitable that at some point with the premieres coming up and previews in December that something is going to leak within such a short time scale. I would also image we'll also get some heavy TV tie ins with the build up as well, like Spectre and the Harry Potter series. The Japanese trailer has got huge coverage out of nowhere today and I dare say BB8 toy sales will rocket there based on just how cute the robot is in it.

Its not for my benefit,......I scour these threads for any info.....I I've watched that international trailer over & over,.....but if I were to post stills I'd post them on the other thread......cus thats the considerate guy I am......there are guys on here are who avoid the spoiler thread

:thumbsup
