Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

The ice planet one of the battles is over has a long straight trench going thru it. There's totally going to be a trench run throwback

Thats not bad, but I'm hoping for one where someone cuts everything together that looks like one big take. ie: the falcon flying using all the shown footage.

It's worth pointing out that the first film in each trilogy has main, older, character die in the third act to send the younger characters on their Hero's Journey. Ben, Qui-gon.....

I think what is throwing some people off about the Falcon's turret rotation is that when you think it through, in the ANH turret scene the guns are pointing straight away from Luke & Han which means they're pointing straight up and down relative to the Falcon. So, going by that, being able to point straight back shouldn't be possible, at least not when manned as that would mean the guns would then be pointing straight up and down relative to the gunner. But as others have said, who knows what upgrades Han has made to the Falcon since the end of Jedi and it's even possible that the turrets are now operated remotely.

I just had a thought, imagine a shot with the full sized falcon, starting on someone in the turret, then tracking across the outside of the falcon and to the cockpit?

I love the fact that John Boyega and Daisy Ridley are as excited about all of this as we are. Their excitement adds a lot. I look forward to seeing them become the newer, younger faces of the SW universe. It would really suck to have some ******* method actor become the face of Star Wars and dump all over the fans.

And on top of everything with the Trailer yesterday, we in Canada elected a new Prime Minister...

I feel good about my choice...

Yeah, that's wishful thinking (and a little manipulation) on someone's part. We have been staring at that scene in HD and we've never been able to see any detail like that.

yes but if you actually compare both of these images you can see that the direction the helmet is facing in the rear picture is not the same as the "blow up" in front.

I call Photoshop.

Yeah who knows. It doesn't look like they are taken from the exact same frame but time will tell I guess.

It's worth pointing out that the first film in each trilogy has main, older, character die in the third act to send the younger characters on their Hero's Journey. Ben, Qui-gon.....

...Jar Jar? Lol! But yeah, people have been speculating Han would die right from the moment Harrison Ford was announced (stemming from Ford's desire to kill Han off in the OT) so I think the bigger shock/twist at this point would be if he DIDN'T die. Lol! My guess based on what we've officially seen so far and interviews, is that grandpappy-obsessed Kylo Ren (whatever his real name is) and Rey are Solo siblings and Kylo, ever the prodigal son, kills off daddy when he stands up to him. One thing I still can't reconcile is that if Rey is the daughter of two well-known galactic figures, why is she living the hardscrabble life of a scavenger on a desert planet? Maybe a falling out and wanted to strike out on her own to "prove" herself or something?

Sorry if I missed it above...

I really like these two and Daisy is just adorable to me. I truly do wish them the best in their endeavors.
