Put in my place... with what? Misinterpreted statements like this?
"I don't need some guy on a board to defend how women are treated in film."
As strange as it sounds, my position has never been one where women needed me to shown how women are treated in film. As I've told you, what I have to say about it are my views and my opinions. If kristenhenry70's opinion is different, than that's pretty much that. We have different opinions. I'm not looking at this scenario as though every single woman in the world will instantly agree with my viewpoints. Even women debate on women's issues.
"It creates the "problem" out of thin air, and then tells us that we have to be upset about it."
Ok, I will certainly hear you out on the 'out of thin air' points. I do let my anger get the best of me, but I try my best to ensure I'm not taking it out directly on the users. But please understand, I'm no spider masquerading as a clown and there is a difference between talking about something I get upset about, and telling people what they should get upset about. You want a thread where users are telling people to get upset? Go to the new Ghostbusters thread. They would LOVE to tell you why you should be upset about the new film.
"My own counsel will I keep."
And believe me when I say this, I am not trying to impose my views onto you or get you to look at me as some representative of the female gender. I would like to see more female representation in Star Wars, but I understand that others, women included, will have a different view on the matter. Whatever you have to say about this film or on the subject matter, I will not tell you what to do or how you should feel about it. I would ask you how you felt about it. I can also assure you that no matter what your views are of the film, you'll get no name calling from me.
I hope it's everything you want it to be.
