Of all the "things that [George] wanted but couldn't do", that's about the only one I really, really wish they'd been able to properly fix with the Special Edition. Instead of the half-arsed result. :unsure We saw Blue Squadron pilots in X-wing cockpits. We saw one Gold Squadron Y-wing leaving the site before the station blew. I had hoped for at least one long enough shot of the "thirty Rebel ships" quoted in dialogue that we could actually see the whole flight. Rookies in Blue flying high cover, primary assault by Gold, with the more-skilled dogfighters of Red running interference. Maybe two full squadrons of X-wings, and a half-strength Gold? By the time Red Leader did his run, the remaining three-ship element of Gold waitign in reserve had been whittled down to just Keyan Farlander making it out... Many more TIE Fighters, the X-wings showing why they were the premiere space-superiority starfighter in the galaxy (says so on the sales brochure), Y-wings covering their butts with their ion cannons, careful attention to the varying rates of attrition on each side, and even by squadron, demonstrating without words the abilities of the various craft and the skill of their pilots...

Gwendoline Christie[/h]She plays a character called Brienne of Tarth ( think that's right ) Anyway looking at Google images, she already appears to be handy with a long sword, so ideal.:thumbsup

As a total aside, I downloaded a nice torrent of the phantom menace last night. (no, I do not feel guilty about this. I've bought it twice already as well as a lifetime of stuff going to lucas)
Anyway, I've never seen it in high def and it looked WAY better than I remember (on my old crt tv) Up until Jar Jar, it looked pretty darn good.
But I realized the biggest problem with the whole film: it should have been a book. It's really a prologue setting up the universe that we love. In the same way that Tolkien took forever setting up lord of the rings, Lucas tried to do that here. And as interesting as that all is, it doesn't make a very good adventure

I thank you for making me feel less mad because I had that prologue thought very early after seeing Episode 1 and it gave me great comfort.

I have realized I actually hate a character/s more than Jar-Jar. I hate those freaking battle droids. They are just as annoying and more prevalent throughout the PT.

Hayden Christensen as a force ghost at the end of ROTJ (DVD version) - My first thought: "what a dumb fan-edit".
Palpatine's make-up in ROTS - My first thought: "Bad make-up test. It will obviously be refined".
It is not like Lucasfilm hasn't done dumb things in the past ...

If they waited until the end of Episode 3 to show Annikan turn to Vader then there should have been an episode 4 to show him hunting the jedi. I mean, we never really got to see just what a bad ass Vader was.

I'm sure others have bitched about this ... but since it STILL pisses me off, here goes...
I remember hearing Vader was in ep III and getting SUPER pissed off... I mean WHY?!?!
They keep revealing a new Sith every flick... so it would have been GREAT if Obi Cut off Anakin's arms and legs, left him to die while lava licked his heals and started him on fire... Ben just walks away while Anakin screams.
Then they go on with the movie as it was... but NEVER show Anakin again.
Then, if you're watching in order (which doesn't happen in my house.. where the prequels don't exist) you would see a NEW Sith enter in episode IV - Enter Darth Vader... watch Ben blame the new Sith for Killing Anakin (LIAR!) and then there's STILL a reveal that Vader is Anakin in Empire...
Why was that so hard?!

If you go with that thinking then you also have to say you don't need the guards because you could maneuver your blade into your opponents' blade equally fast.
