Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Yes, your avatar was the cover of the novel. I read the crap out of that sucker in 1977. :)

You are right, and I still have that (along with the ESB and ROTJ originals) as well. :)

I dabbled a bit with some of the prequel stuff, novels included, but I am so looking forward to the release of this movie and everything the merchandising folks can throw our way...

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Remember, he's British, "Wrapped filming" may have a totally different meaning there ;)

:lol I actually just watched a show today where a British guy, with a perfectly understandable accent, was subtitled...

I'm guessing he has finished, but not the whole filming.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Makes for a very believable plot hole if Lucas had to make up something on the spot about it. Though this explanation is more cleverly thought out than I think Even George could have fabricated.

Interesting theory nonetheless!

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Yeah it's bunk. The Stormtroopers just set their blasters to fire in a wider band to blanket both people. They miss so much that that guaranteed that they totally killed everything right in front of them. Besides there's totally a knob on the side of the blaster for this. "Disintegrate" implies they were vaporized like a ST:TNG phaser set on kill.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

The real plot hole to be addressed is why the stormtroopers are so feared when they shoot that poorly.

In regards to his clone theory, by the time of ANH, the troopers were no longer clones. They were enlisted military. (Or so I've heard

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

The Stormtroopers on the Death Star were under orders to let them escape to their ship, which had a tracking device on board. The rest of the time we see them shooting, hey do so to
pretty darn good effect.

Since we talk about plots this might be the reason why Stormtrooper shoot so bad:

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I get that it's just a movie so our heroes have to survive. But with a bit better direction, our heroes can just BARELY survive. And that is always more exciting.
