Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

It doesn't sound to me like Lucas is all out. In the first video Kathleen Kennedy said he would be like her Yoda. I think, unless he is completely mad, that he still retains control over the brand. So they can't make Luke the next Disney princess or something.

They didn't pay all that money so Lucas can retain control.

Also - in the earlier post - flexing muscle has nothing to do with this - its the fact that studio notes 99% of the time destroy any possibility of a good movie. Why do you think George moved away from Hollywood and paid for Empire and Jedi out of his pocket

And yes - Disney did force Pixar to move on sequels by developing straight to video sequels minus Pixar. Their scripts were so terrible Pixar jumped in to keep their quality level up.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I think for me a big part of Episode 7 'feeling' like Star Wars to me is going to happen in the first 30 seconds.

Yeah, I accept that it's going to start with 'Disney presents', but it's still an LFL/Disney partnership.

I know I'm not going to get 20th Century Fox fan-fare.

I want to see an LFL logo.

I want to see 'A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away'.

I want to see 'Star Wars' explode backwards from the screen.

I want a yellow title crawl, going up the screen filling me in on where the story has just been and leading me up to the camera pan down from a starfield.

After that, I'm flexible on the story.

I'm not sure why everone is worried about "Disneyfication."

In the third Pirates, a character is skull-raped to death by the tentacle beard of an undead fish-man.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

One thing I have to admit about SW:I'm a bit sick of it...I swear screw Jar-Jar it's Luke,Vader,Obi and the bloody rest I'm tired of! :lol

And the original set of films are NOT that good because, think of it,the first one was two hours plus and we had...

A desert planet
A space station
a big showdown

Whoopy doo :rolleyes

Two was better and I kind of agree it may be the best of the lot.

ROJ was a mess and precursor to the "prequel" disaster so many villainize, though frankly Ep Three was okay, full of holes and some bad acting but the most "Star Wars" of the three, one was ROJ on steroids....

So what of seven? I hope to GAWD we get less of everything and maybe go off in a whole new direction the only guy I wanna see is Luke and then only as the narrator for the story.

About all I'd like to come back is the Empire, bring them back to their glory as the army of the Republic, can't help it I like the Storm Troopers :cool

Sith I could care less,Jedi too (they honestly bug me,always have)

Annd I'm done, don't beat me! :behave

Avengers opened with a Paramount screen. As do the IM3 posters that are out....

Just saying :)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I'll miss the 20th Century Fox Fanfare, but I think the content of the movie will outweigh how it opens.

We could get a hand written Star Wars Episode VII up there as long as the rest of it's good, that's what will matter. But, I'm sure we'll get teh Lucasfilm logo followed by the Star Wars logo with the crawl...

Yes, I will miss it too!

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

As far as the movies go, Boba Fett is dead.

Yeah - that's what I thought. All that expanded universe stuff can take a hike. That would be like counting something from New Voyages as canon for TOS -

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Tell you what, if someone could escape Sarlaccs Pitt it woud be Boba Fett. Im not saying I want him in the fim, but sure its plausabe he could have got out.

Well, the creative team at LucasFilm did revive Darth Maul for the Clone Wars series to great effect and a very enjoyable story line so far. And that's per GL's own direction and very high degree of canon. So it is well within the realm of possibility for them to bring back Boba Fett, as either a prequel or sequel to ROTJ.

The Clone Wars is not a movie. The Clone Wars is a television program that has a significant amount of hours to fill, an audience to build and is not created from the notes of George Lucas.

It is in within the realm of possibility we'll see Boba Fett in VII - but it's just as likely we'll see Greedo resurrected to seek revenge on Solo.

Hang on.

Why is the Clone Wars cartoon -- pardon, the SECOND Clone Wars cartoon -- a "very high degree of canon," but various novels, comic books, video games, etc. aren't? The Clone Wars, I'd venture, is every bit as much "EU" material as any of that other stuff, and therefore is totally disposable at any time, per your own previous statements.

Actually George told them to resurrect Maul.

Darth Maul Lives! 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' shows his life after vivisection | Inside TV | EW.com

And George met regularly with the Clone Wars team to discuss story points.

I totally agree......also, weren't the Clone Wars 3 years long? Then how come the cartoons are now on season 5? (5 years) ...or are we expected to believe that all this outlandish, indulgent animation is squeezed into a 3 year period?

I mean, come on......by the time we see Star Wars, sorry, Episode 4, the Jedi and the Force are referred to as hokey religions, ancient weapons, their fire has gone out of the universe....as if everyone has forgotten them.....if Obi-wan and Anakin had really gone through all THAT, i honestly don't think they would have become enemies so readily.....

I dunno, guess i just don't like the Clone Wars....
