STAR WARS Rebels new animated series!

Yeah I never thought Order 66 eliminated all Jedi from the Galaxy, but it destroyed the Jedi Order as an organization.
exactly! :D Well, we can criticize, complain, explain how we want the stories and characters to be created until we're blue in the face but its not going to change what is being created and is already in the can.... truth be told Filoni and his gang are making Rebels just for me and Bryan anyway... if others want to watch it then fine, join the party, otherwise the rest of ya can watch something else. :wacko :lol

I agree. I think this was the intention; not to eliminate all Force-users in the galaxy, but to make it impossible to rebuild the order to its former "glory".

Not really why people think otherwise. We know Obi and Yoda changed the beacon at the temple. With the number of jedi in existence, I would have to believe that some like Obi and Yoda had clones that were not successful in their execution of Order 66 not to mention any Jedi that were on missions or assignments that did not require them to travel with clones. Also, it's not like Jedi and Sith have force-dar. Yes, there may be detection by those that have some sort of personal mental attachment (mentor/student, close friends, or known family) to another (Luke communicating with Leia, Vader sensing Obi and Luke, and maybe even if the individual nearby is using the force, such as Vader detecting it with Luke in the Trench (Luke was in touch with Obi at the time). We know that Yoda, Obi, Luke, and Leia went undetected for 20 years and that Leia could stand next to her Father on the Deathstar without Vader detecting anything. And like Obi and Yoda, many may have come to the realization that they would better be off either moving on with their lives or standing for an appropriate time to act.

I get the feeling that if the purge was a canon event, it did include a pro-active search of force sensitive individuals. That would be a waste of resources. They would not pose a threat unless the received training, and most likely at some point, the Empire was satisfied they killed off anyone that might be a teacher.

It will be interesting to see if any of this is addressed in the show. I get the feeling there will be at least a little light cast upon the Jedi during the past 14 years.

With the presence of a character like the Inquisitor I think that is likely the case! He seems to be the Emperors attempt to hunt down remaining Jedi.

agreed.
its like how things are fought today... while Al-Qaeda and other taliban forces are hunted its mostly the leadership that is targeted and taken out which disrupts and lessens the potential threat of their followers and fighters. Force users or those with the potential aren't much of a threat to the Sith but to take out the most powerful Jedi and any potential teachers is all that is required to end the movement.... for the most part.

People criticized the Clone Wars cartoon because it wasn't "original trilogy enough" but this one is based on OT style and character types and people are already complaining that its not what they want! :facepalm.

Exactly. I think no matter what they give us,Star Wars fans in general have become so hypocritical and whiny. Everything I've seen so far is pointing towards Disney trying to please the fans and give us back that OT Star Wars feel again and I applaud them for that. I'm loving all of those toys too. I can't wait to be buying them for my son and enjoying the show with him.

The worst thing to ever happen to fandom of any franchise is the internet. It's also the best, as most things in life are. :)

agreed... as an adult we had to "grow up" and "take responsibility" and take matters more seriously and even look at things like movies with a more critical eye so it is very easy to pick these shows apart and even become cynical about the intentions of the creators... but you have to find the inner child in yourself and look at it from the perspective of what would you have thought of these shows when you were a kid? So just go with the fantasy, overlook the limitations of the medium (stop motion animated TaunTauns for example were so cool no matter what) and uphold a Suspension of disbelief (suspend judgment concerning the implausibility of the narrative) and just enjoy the show for what it is. I often critique and scoff at much of Return of the Jedi today and a lot of things in the prequels but in the end I still saw those films multiple times and found so much to still like. Look how many Clone Troopers are a part of the 501st today! Its this that we forget when we prejudge a show like Rebels... how would you have viewed this show if it had come out when you were 9 years old? I would have went nuts and talked about it non stop and bugged my parents for every toy that ever would come out for the show Rebels AND The Clone Wars cartoons! The inner child in me trumps my adult cynicism. When I sit down to watch these shows I do so with no pretensions and just have fun with the fantasy.

Exactly how I feel too and the best way to be. Something that's helped it even more in recent years is my 6 year old son.I just love seeing things through his eyes. I have more appreciation for the prequels because of his excitement with them. I've always loved the Clone Wars though and have much faith in Filoni and his team. :)

This guy looks awesome , this is the 12" version by the way, I think I'll be going with the 12" line and Vehicles.

I'm really into that armor, flack-helmet and that gun, that's something else.Though the helmet looks like something from the Roman Empire and he even has a Roman name "Kallus", I already like him.

The uniform underneath the armour looks like a regular imperial officer's uniform, except that there is no flare on the pants like on riding pants
and the tunic is too short. It looks like cuffs on the gloves but they are a bit tight and do not flare like in the OT.

I think the helmet looks like it is midway between the Clonetrooper's and the Navy Trooper helmet.

When I first saw him, I thought of General Veers. You know, the way he wore armor over his standard uniform when he went into battle. I always that was cool for some reason.

One thing I did not like about CW (Obi, Anakin, Mace) and it will probably be the same with this guy and Kanan is how they ALWAYS wore their armor, even when walking around the temple. I know it is easier on the animators, but it just bugged me.

ya, I bet it won't take long for costumers of the 501st to start working on this character! He'll be very popular!
