STAR WARS Rebels new animated series!

Maybe it's not supposed to look like a lightsabre, as they're hiding from the Sith Inquisitor and the Empire, without the sabre drawn, it kind of looks like a ship repair tool, and not suspiciously like a conventional lightsabre.

It will be interesting to see how Dave Filloni now handles the "Mando Issue". He was a big fan of the Karen Travis novels and was opposed to the changes Lucas decided to take to Mandalorian culture from those novels. But CW was GL's show. Now that Dave has more creative control and since Rebels will be considered canon, he has an opportunity to maybe broaden their backstory. I will say he did a great job with the Mando's in the episodes feature Kate Sackhoff.

Hera looks real cool too... notice LOTS of female heroes ... the "Ahsoka Effect" me thinks!

Finally figured out what this new craft reminded me of:

BTW: From a Lego report from the UK Toy Fair, this smaller ship is suppose to fit in the back of the larger ship (You know, Like Mark's ship fit into the Phoenix in Battle of the Planets).

I'm hoping that we get some decent blasters and other prop like items this year from Rubies. Costumes usually stink but often the accessories are better scale than Hasbro toys (although not great quality).

well, just to give kudos.. a builder that goes by the nickname nocturne armory over at the R2 Builder's club has already scratch built his own Chopper and it was shown today for Kids Week at the Intrepid Air and Space Museum in NYC.
Other than the official LFL build (which was also built by a yet to come forward R2 Builder club member for Dave Filoni) this is the first fan Chopper build I am aware of... He said: "As soon as I saw the photos of Chopper about 2 weeks ago I just had to make one. It took 12 hour days since then to get him complete. Everything is scratch built, using plans I came up with. The head is sintra and styrene. The body is birch plywood with styrene skins. Legs are birch with mdf/styrene feet. His drive is just scooter motors with a sabertooth. Everything is hand cut and machined. I know he isn't 100% exact and i eventually plan on doing working utility arms, the illuminated LED on the side of the head, and a few details I didn't have the time to complete."

Or maybe it's a power supply? Maybe Kaiburr crystals are hard to find.

I can Imagine Kanan giving him that sabre, as he has only one of his own, he fabricates it out of foundparts to train the kid, to me it doesn't seem too far-fatched, the lack of crystals is believable also, carefully avoiding the Empire means, skipping planets that are known for their krystals.
