Unless he spends half his life sleeping in a Bacta tank, seeing Vader out of his suit constantly calls into question whether he really needs it to survive. I'm still not keen on the idea that Vader needs low level wannabes to do what he is credited with doing in the OT, namely being responsible for hunting down the Jedi. Making his reputation built on a technicality severely undermines his stature as the Emperor's most feared servant and lessens the impact of his ultimate confrontation with Kenobi on the first Death Star.

Also, Owen has little reason to care about what happened to Anakin. He didn't know him at all if we're accounting for their knowledge of one another in the PT. So Owen's resentment toward Kenobi will feel pretty unwarranted based on George's failure in the PT to establish an actual relationship between Owen and Anakin. I could buy Owen wanting to protect Luke, but it'll be hard to believe there was any sense of loyalty to Anakin on Owen's part.

Ewan looks great and the fact that they had enough restraint to not show him fire up his saber is a welcome surprise.

If I had to sum this up in one word it would be...

"Meh."

At least Stranger Things is coming soon. I'm very much looking forward to that!

You and I always seem to be on the same page, it’s kind of funny

I recall in Legends that Vader would try and see if and for how long he could survive without the suit. But suspect will probably see him coming out of his bacta tank in his castle.

Vader isn't going to hunt down every random Jedi Padawan that just happened to survive. That's what the Inquisitors are for. He's got bigger targets, like Obi-Wan.

Like the rest of the shows, they spend money on the sets, visual effects, and nothing on the writers.

Didn’t the prequels teach them that delving into the off screen backstory ruins the mythos and destroys the legacy?
Ahh, but there’s money to be made and lessons are never learned because just like Jurassic Park, “Next time, it will be flawless.”

As long as we don’t end up getting “The Book of Obi-Wan”…

I saw no vespas in the trailers released, so far, and I never heard Ewan say, over and over, “I…am Obi-Wan”.

If Darth Vader shows up riding a rancor, I’m out.

We already had the bacta bubble bath scene in Rogue One.

I feel that Rogue One handled that scene very well. Just enough, not too much.

I wouldn't mind seeing Vader mowing down some OTHER lost Jedi(s) in this one, with the though of Obi-Wan on the periphery.
Maybe some (non Bacta) flashbacks to live action Obi-wan and Anakin in the Clone wars? They could still pull that off.

And of course, we already have McDiarmid saying that Palpatine is around in some form or another.
