I was lucky to have trooped at the Star Wars in Concert World Premier last year at the London O2 Arena so this time around i decided to go along and watch the concert and let others get a chance to troop.
Denise and I got to the LG Arena in Birmingham just after 5 O'clock so we had a couple of hours before the show started to look around. After some fish and chips we saw the UKG and Rebel Legion doing what they do best so i queued up with the many fans to get some pics with those gleaming white Stormtroopers. The que for Vader was mad so i missed out there..
Then we had a look around the original props and costumes on display. Again this was very busy and quiet hard to get any decent pics due to the display cabinets and the spot lighting. It was a shame they were mainly PT props and costumes and not more from the OT, but i think that was never going to happen.
It was soon time to make our way into the arena to watch the show and for some unknown reason we were re-seated. This was a little annoying as we were due to sit in the front middle with a good clear view of the stage and screen and were moved to the side. Although we were closer to the stage and screen we were at an angle. Still it was a great atmosphere and the show was very good.
Having seen a small glimpse of the show at the O2 in London last year Anthony Daniels jokes were not so fresh, but he did an excellent job telling the story. Did you know he has been in all 6 films?
The London Philharmonic Orchestra were amazing and the laser light show and film images were great. It would have been even better to have seen more OT footage but what i didn't see last time was the Ralph McQuarrie pictures and the story board stills.
Overall this was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and it was great to see this from start to finish
