Star Wars Episode 2 create boxes

I don’t know if this has been talked about or not, but does any body know if these where "real world" found items that were used for crate boxes in AOTC? I’m assuming they were made in Australia? Anybody know where I can find one?

Based on what came out of the desert from Ep1, I would guess military ammo cases/supply cases. They're tough and cheap, easy to stick egg crates to for texture and they tend to look very techy.
